Favourite parts: the mess-up at badminton, and when the music switches at Dressage. Such a quirky and fun performance, their celebration at the end was definitely genuine.

Let us not forget to also praise the brilliant team behind the camera โ๐พโ๐พโ๐พ

As a graphic designer, I love that the olympics has always believed pictograms to be essential to their marketing! They understood early on that when you bring people together from all over, simple pictures and logos can go a long way in communicating a concept visually โค Just such a cool use of pictograms, we had a whole lesson about their history in one of the courses

hats off to the creative team behind this concept. it is much harder to pull off such a simple concept effectively. yet they pulled it off in a manner nobody anticipated. much better than the pissing contest of gaudy ceremonies that have become the hallmark of sporting events in recent history.

The sailing one was unexpected. Made me smile.

for those who think this was something so seemingly small and insignificant, then blown away and amazed at the effort and movement put into this, I would like to remind them, TOKYO 1964 is the first Olympics who started using PICTOGRAMS as part of the imaginary and branding of the Olympics. Obviously, they want and really normal for them to celebrate on that history fact by performing this cosplay.

watching this 2 years after the official. i feel emotional watching this because this is absolutely stunning, creative and beautiful. The amount of coordination and teamwork is massive. Thank you Japan, you are the number #1 country in my life. โค
