“Real children don’t bounce back” it’s so strong and straight to the point you can’t avoid getting tears to your eyes 😞.

I love how in Sally they go out of their way to show how she is mistreated by other kids too. I think it really does strike a chord of empathy in kids watching to think about others experiences
  • OK but that Sally one was impressive with how they were able to get the puppet to display so much emotion that you really feel for the kid

Disturbing PSAs are so much more effective than the cheesy ones that try to be "hip" for the kiddies. The best way to get a message across is to show just how real and serious the danger of the issue is

That one with the cartoon kid being abused by his dad was the most disturbing one out of them all.

The PSA with Sally, the one about child abuse, was really moving. It really put you in her shoes and how I'm sure every abused child feels and sees the world. Being controlled by the abuser even when they aren't around and no one able to see it. It's just so heartbreaking. Yeah, these kinds of things are disturbing, but they show reality, and they're not sugar coating what actually happens or can happen. There needs to be more like this these days.

The chef dropping the pan over herself actually makes me die inside. Like imagine the severe pain that would cause in real life. Im someone who wants to work in medicine so very little makes me feel queezy, but the thought of that literally freaks me out. 💀

The "Real Children Don't Bounce Back" really hit me. It just proves how every child deserves a parent, but not every parent deserves a child.

The "Real Children Don't Bounce Back" was a good point that child abuse is just scummy. The end sent chills down my spine.

The seatbelt psa is so REAL — we had a cop friend who told us of a crash that killed four college kids because one dude wasn’t wearing his seatbelt, and he catapulted around the car just as shown here. It was horrific. If not for that they would have survived.
  • Back in the 1960's my mom lost a friend to a high voltage power line. It isn't clear if the kid did a mistake, or committed suicide because of abuse from home, but the whole graduating class wasnt the same since. Wish we had these PSAs sooner. We need to bring them back to prime time television. Yes, it is scary to kids, but a little scare in early life is better than death.

That cartoon abuse one choked me up at the cut to the actual child at the foot of the stairs, really frightening cut. Say what you will about some PSAs, they can be really effective.

We Brits are the champions of scaring the s*** out of our children.

The, "Toy that can Kill," one always freaks me out. It goes from 0 to 100 hauntingly fast. All seems well... Just a nice little hangout between some friends and then suddenly, death. Murder... And that kid at the end cheering, "I won I won," as if he didn't just end people's lives.

"real children dont bounce back" really got me for some reason

The moment he felt the need to explain what a chatroom is, I suddenly aged into a gnarled old fossil
  • i remember seeing "real children dont bounce back" while i was being abused. it was really jarring seeing my situation portrayed that way, since i didnt really know how bad it was and that it wasnt normal
  • @yikezo
The "real children don't bounce back" really got me- At first, it's just a silly cartoon, then at the end, it's more realistic and scary.

I remember the police coming around to our school for a talk on internet safety. They played a short video on the dangers of online communication with strangers. A boy and a girl are talking to each other over messenger or something, sending photos to each other, as if to prove they are who they say they are. Flash forward to when they plan to meet each other at a local park, the camera shows a brief clip of the boy and girl looking for each other, quickly replaced by two older, generally creepy looking men, eyeing each other as if they know what the other was doing. The video really stuck with me, mainly because I had expected it to be the run of the mill child meets predator, not predator meets predator
