I think we could all use a little bit more structure in our lives.
  • @resdraon
Biggest issue is they dont have the little card windows anymore
  • It's crazy that it's May and we haven't gotten any structure decks for 2024. I'd love to see more good anime structure decks, especially if they go through a bunch of characters that haven't gotten much love in the recent years.

The Jack Atlus structure deck got me back into Yugioh after a 10 year hiatus. For what it is worth nostalgia products do have merit in player retention.

2024 is about halfway over, and no structure decks. Hope they aren’t secretly ditching them altogether in the TCG, because the OCG has had 4 in the past month alone.
  • The fact that tactical try decks cost 10 DOLLARS A POP with lightning storm, 3x ash, 3x maxx c, 2x called by with generic staple extra deck cards?? It's literally crazy and I was thinking Konami TCG WOULD NEVER want to print this lmao. You can buy just 1 of each archetypes (Eldlich, Cyber Dragons, and Live Twins) and got 1-2 playsets of staples AND 3 ready to play decks. TRUST ME the OCG players in my country went freaking crazy and buying out pre orders of this when the card list of cyber dragons released with many staples. These products will LITERALLY SELL LIKE HOT CAKES and TCG Konami would be dumb if they never release it on the west with their marked up staple price

As a MD player it feels surreal to get so many of these "UR" staples for so cheap with these decks. But then again we get SP Little Knight for the same price as any other UR card, meanwhile you TCG guys need to choose between getting that card and paying rent this month so it's all good.

Would not mind (and would highly appreciate) a dual structure deck release of Joey's red eyes and Pegasus' Thousand eyes. Hell maybe a toon one would be cool too.
  • Maybe Konami should be asking the fans what structure decks they would want to see. Polling, questionnaires, and so forth. More interaction with the player base might help to let them know what people want updated in a structure, and what they would go out and buy. I was thrilled when I learned about the Traptrix update/structure version, and another structure deck ended up being my absolute favorite archetype, Lair of Darkness (though it REALLY needed some creative tweaks on my end). I remember also wishing the Icejade update was put into a full archetype structure deck, as I think people would love it if they got some instruction on how it works. Structures have had a massive influence on me as a player, so I would gladly contribute on my part if Konami regularly addressed the fans over what structures should be made.

One of the old 5DS video games on DS, had a thing where each player uses a Structure Deck.
  • Personally, I'd love to see some lore style duel structure decks. albaz vs despia, goblin bikers vs diabelstar, ancient gear vs neos, shinking sarcophogous vs egyptian gods.
  • @GhostlyGhost333
I’d love to see a new and improved Atlantean deck. It would make sense, considering we had the year of Fire.
  • @AntiAxl93
Personally, I am a casual player and one who likes to collect decks for fun, so yeah, structures decks have always been my favorite product and I'd like to get more based on anime characters or old archetypes that are bit hard to find right now. I actually like the idea ofthe Tactical-Try, since for example I don't have an Eldlich nor Evil Twin decks.
  • Yeah Konami is being weird about releases this year. We are 13 days away from rarity collection 2, and a month away from this years battles of legend with no promotion or updates. It makes me wonder if there will be delays
  • @t-rex_tion9612
Me worrying before I watch video because I bought 3x of each of those:
  • @yugiohcommander
More structure decks would be amazing! They're so good for Domain Format, usually just gotta pick the right deckmaster and add about 20ish cards and you can play!
  • @SapphicSara
Konami is slowing down product in general. We also had multiple deck build packs in a year but this year we've only just had a deck build pack announced. Could be supply isuses could be just an intentional slowing. Could be experimenting. My guess is Konami had just pivoted a bit more resources to rush duel to keep it alive and so it's slowed OCG a little which slows tcg

All I want in this world is a Clown structure deck with a Saggi retrain as the cover card.

I think the problem is that the TCG just doesnt want to release the Tactical Try Decks. They don't know how to make those products worse without pissing off the community, so they just aren't going to release them at all. Not to mention that with Maxx C banned in the TCG, you'd have to adjust the non-engine cards in there out of necessity and idk if Konami would be willing to put 2 copies of Prosperity into a structure deck, not to mention that Spright Blue and Spright Jet are still money cards on the secondary market. Printing those would also be bad for vendors, even though I think its EXACTLY what the game needs to get people into paper play. The reality is that with the way the secondary market works in the TCG (where there's just not as big of a collector's market as games like Pokemon), the game pretty much makes its money off of whats competitive. So printing stuff like the Tactical Try decks in the TCG goes against their financial interests because the culture of the TCG community is just vastly different from the OCG. There's a large sect of players in the TCG community who outside of the DM-5Ds era don't care that much about the anime. Hell, I started playing in 2021 and only really watched the original series for the first time after learning the game. I have ZERO nostalgia for the anime and care more about the card lore. I only care about the DM-era stuff because I think the story of the original manga/anime was really good, I genuinely think it holds up well. But anyways, the collector's market problem could be easily resolved if Konami started also locking alt arts behind rarities like statlight rare, collector's rare, what have you (as well as just started printing more alt arts in general). Just rarity bumping beloved cards like Dante or what have you at stupidly high rarities isn't enough anymore I think. Konami needs to do a better job of fostering a collector's market so that the player base can suffer less. Konami also needs to further capitalize on people who enjoy lore-based archetypes. Stuff like the Albaz, Aluber and Ecclesia alt arts are a step in the right direction, Konami needs to really milk alt arts for what they're worth tbh. The best thing that Konami did right lately was print alt arts of the Evil Twin link monsters. I'd highly recommend that they do the same for archetypes like Dragon Maid, Tearlaments or Labrynth for example. THATS the sort of shit that modern day collectors in this game would want. Thats one of the big things about the Pokemon TCG and why their collector's market works. Their collectors want all the different arts of their favorite Pokemon. For whatever reason, Yugioh isnt willing to embrace that and its partially affecting the price of the game. Like, if Konami printed a copy of Incredible Eccledia that showed her eating a Hungry Burger, i'd be willing to fork over 100 dollars for a single copy if they locked it behind a collector's rare or some shit. It'd look really good in a binder and it'd surely raise in value over time so long as Konami doesnt get too crazy with reprinting alt arts. Not to mention that vendors pulling it from cases of a given product could use it to further cover the expense of the case, which would help bring down the price of the rest of the cards.
