Blender Grease Pencil Rotoscope Test

Just a tiny tidbit of something I've been working on in between ... stuff. I'm in between semesters now so I'm trying real hard to actually finish something along with adulting. But I'm still here! Just slowly putting this thing together while I can.

So what I'm doing is using a very rough 3D model I've rigged an animated and I'm tracing it on twos in 2.8's Grease Pencil. This way I can basically skip roughs and timing drawings and go straight from reference to nearly finished look all in the same software. It's been fun, but slow trying to figure out a smooth workflow. Like as you can see, he has no mouth. But I'm getting there!

did you draw lines over 3d mesh? I recently render everything with freestyle against white background, then import sequence and auto trace it to grease pencil
