This song rips my heart out. This was our song, my childhood sweetheart from an early age, who was the love of my life. She was killed in a terrorist bombing in 1987. Never forgotten. I will see you again my love.

R.I.P Phylis. 47 is too young. Breast cancer took her from us. Your son Marc Nelson inherited your talent..I feel for him. This song is timeless and I am so surprised it wasn't a hit in your homeland of the United States. It made number 1 on the regular pop charts here in the United Kingdom.

This song got so little radio play in the USA back in 1985 and '86, as did "I Like You" (although "I Like You" did get a lot of dance club play.) They just don't make them like this anymore. Europe -- and in particular, the UK -- has always had a better ear for American soul music than Americans... There is a saying which goes: "In the USA, you're ONLY as HOT as your last hit... ...In EUROPE, you're ALWAYS as HOT as your last hit."
