Uyghur activist condemns China’s human rights abuses and economic exploitation

A renowned Uyghur human rights activist Dolkun Isa has lambasted China for its poor human rights record and its international policies of economic exploitation, especially in Africa. Speaking exclusively on the 15th anniversary of the 2009 Urumqi massacre, the President of the World Uyghur Congress, Dolkun Isa emphasized that July 5 is the darkest day in the history of the Uyghur struggle as 15 years ago the genocide of the Uyghurs was started by China.

  • On 17 August 2015, a bombing took place inside the Erawan Shrine at the Ratchaprasong intersection in Pathum Wan District, Bangkok, Thailand, killing 20 people and injuring 125. It is suspected to have been carried out in retaliation for Thailand's deportation of Uyghur terrorist suspects back to China instead of allowing them to travel to Turkey for asylum.
