From Portlandia, Monty Python, Robot Chicken, College Humor to Studio C I am going to react to some viral & hilarious medial sketches! A few months ago I reacted to the funniest medical sketches from Saturday Night Live, and you all asked me to react to some more clips that aren’t from SNL. I scoured YouTube for the most hilarious medical skits I could find and eventually pulled together a really strong group from Portlandia, Monty Python, Robot Chicken, College Humor, and Studio C. Outside of laughing, I managed to find opportunities to discuss appendectomies, separating conjoined twins, depression, Web MD, cancer, and Leroy Jenkins, among other things. Anything else I missed? Let me know in the comments below!

I’m looking to hire an additional editor! Please read below to learn more about the position and how to apply:

Responsibilities: Edit 1-2 videos a week, including original videos on YouTube/other platforms, or syndicated cut downs on Facebook, Snapchat, IGTV, TikTok, etc.

Qualifications: Significant experience editing videos specifically for YouTube, ideally those that are talent-focused and straight-to-camera. Elite grasp of Adobe Creative Suite and/or DaVinci Resolve. Adobe After Effects a huge plus. “One person band” preferred, meaning an editor who can edit, color, mix, and finish a project all on their own. Extremely fast internet connection required. Must have a strong familiarity with emerging digital video culture and an avid consumer of YouTube content. Sense of humor/personality/style showing through in your cuts would be highly valuable.

Perks: Highly competitive pay, full-remote workflow, part time-full time + benefits opportunities, open to international applicants, flexible hours. Looking to partner talent/motivated individuals in!

To apply: Send your resumé, editing reel/work samples, and few brief sentences detailing your experience and familiarity with YouTube to [email protected]

We're honored to be here. Oh and if you ever need surgery yourself just let us know... (we know a guy)
  • @BraxtonKovary
Studio C had some of the best sketches on the internet back in the day.

My mom had a routine pap smear and came home really pissed because a group of people walked in DURING her pelvic exam and all the doctor said was, "Oh, these are medical students observing procedures for the day, don't worry about them". Not every doctor acts like a professional and not every doctor cares about how the patient feels. So when I find a good doctor I stick with them and recommend to all my friends. I've heard some weird stuff from my friends over the years and had a couple bad experiences myself.

7 years younger than Dr. Mike and slightly appalled that he doesn't know what Monty Python is 🤣
  • @felixjacob292
Sketch: So basically the joke is that the doctor is bad at his job Dr. Mike: This sketch is inaccurate. The doctor is so bad at his job
  • @DrCellini
Lol when he slaps that pt for “reflexes”
  • @groudon67
I love how serious he is when he is watching these medical sketches

Dr Mike: Wants to hire an editor Me on google: how to edit
  • dr mike is gonna be the kind of dad that you can’t show a meme to because you’ll end up getting a lecture instead
  • I've had dysthymic periods in my life (part of PDD), and I wasn't always grumpy. It was more like a feeling of persistent weariness, where I was never able to fully enjoy anything because I knew it was fleeting and I didn't think I really deserved it anyway. It's pretty bad, 0/10, would not recommend.

fun fact - if you have both major depressive disorder AND dysthymia (now called persistent depressive disorder), it’s nicknamed “double depression”. my psychiatrist told me this in an attempt to cheer me up about the diagnoses 😂
  • "But then I noticed... the knife." Doctor Mike: * facepalm* Me: Yep, that's about right.

2:25 "You don't start saying you 'need CCs' of anything " What if CCs stands for Chest Compressions ?? 🤔 :
  • @The_Kirb
I love the old studio C cast they're so funny
  • @dylanwenz8112
Fun fact about the Monty Python sketch, Graham Chapman (the blonde one) was actually a qualified doctor but never went forward with his medical career because his comedy career took off. We can see how much he really learned in med school 😂
  • @gracehowell.
"But then I noticed the knife." Well, my own cause of death appears to have been laughter.
  • @katiepriddy8817
I just love how passionate your are about chest compressions. Your vein in your neck always pops 😂😂❤️

This is an old video but I'm doing a binge watch of Dr Mike's stuff. I can't stop laughing at how outraged & serious he is explaining why these comedy sketches are SO WRONG! (because we all believe the appendix sits directly behind the heart) 😂
