I love how his fights get progressively easier as the series goes on. Its like it was foreshadowed that he was changing for the better.
  • I noticed in the first two games, all Octobot Kings are designed with both aesthetics and flare in mind. Especially in the second game, it's less of a war machine and more a device for a public execution. In the third game, the Octobot King L3GS is much more spartan and rugged. Fit for actual combat. In aesthetics, the first two look like shinto shrines. While the third is a football helmet with legs. And he's wearing a tactical helmet
  • Some will say that Octavio in the third game is easy. But we need to consider that he did not have the power of the zapfish.
  • At the end of the splatoon 3 hero mode I was hoping he’d be chilling with Callie and Marie and you could talk to him because him coming in clutch during the final boss made him one of my new favorite characters
  • Octavio’s mech in Splatoon 3 is giving me major Megamind vibes and I LOVE it!

I love how DJ Octavio is one of the more sympathetic and honorable Nintendo villains.

As much as people say that the Splatoon 2 boss fight is the worst of the three, I think it has a lot of really good elements to it that the others don't have, like the music, cutscenes, background audience filled with light-stick-waving octarians and the Rainmaker section. It just lacks difficulty.

I wish Callie would occasionally jump in the arena with her roller to fight you in Splatoon 2, including the bombs and the fist from Octobot, and in final phase he should call in his flying troops
  • 1:32 why has no one realized in all the years of playing Splatoon that these missile things have SHADES sitting on top of them???
  • @Jackapod
Dude I absolutely love his first appearance in splatoon 1, his boss was so chaotic and fun
  • I hope he gets a bigger role in the DLC. He had a stupidly low amount of screentime in the main story mode, so it would be awesome if he's a major character, or even the guide!
  • I am so glad they went with a middle ground between both localisation dialogues. Europe felt too unnatural for a DJ, while America felt too unnatural for a former military leader. Now we all have America's version but toned down ever so slightly.

Honestly I liked all of his fights. They all felt great in there own way. Unpopular option: I enjoyed Splatoon 2’s final boss more than Octo Expansion’s “final boss” (Tartar, not Agent 3)
  • When I was starting splat 3 blind and I saw Octavio was the first boss. I was getting Sonic adventure vibes and thought it was gonna end up being like fighting Octavio just in different machines over and over again. I was happier with what we got instead
  • Splatoon 3 story mode spoilers: Am I the only one who likes that he’s kind of a good guy now?
  • Octavio in the first 2 games: Final boss Octavio in the 3rd game: First boss
  • [SPOILERS] … Now that I think about it… mr. Grizz’s battle is oddly reminiscent to The first battle with octavio. Down to the: -Octopedos -killer Wails -summoning other Octarians -having to actually move around to reach the boss -not meeting the villain until the very last moment
  • Given where the Octavio boss fight is in the game, It’s safe to say it’s better than the Splatoon 2 fight. But not better than his original rumble. Still great improvement in 3 compaired to 2
  • Man, I gotta wonder what it's like for the octoling version of (new) Agent 3 to have to beat up their former commander. How would your average octoling kid feel about Octavio? Marina was a high-ranking military engineer who worked on octarian superweapons and has clear regrets about her time in the military. Did octoling Agent 3 have similar experiences before reaching Splatsville?
