Whoopi Goldberg and Ving Rhames star in this Lifetime Original Movie based on bestseller by Terry McMillan. When irascible matriarch Viola Price (Goldberg) learns that her next asthma attack will likely kill her, she is determined to fix her fractured family before she leaves this world. While on this quest, she must contend with sibling rivalry, teen pregnancy and drug addiction--and that is only one child! Additionally, her jailbird son needs to learn how to be a better father, her granddaughter is in bigger trouble than her daughter is willing to admit and Viola's estranged husband needs saving from his scheming younger girlfriend. It's the kind of meddling that the Price family hasn't experienced from Viola in decades, and she won't have an easy time bending her loved ones to her will. Mekhi Phifer, Kimberly Elise, Anika Noni Rose and Tichina Arnold also star. (2014)

  • Wonderful movie, I'm abit of a writer, I began writing letters to my 11 brother and sisters and my three sons to know my true love and make amends for wrongs, every person should do this before any unexpected mishaps on your life, my parents are gone but I still can do it and bury the letter at their grave stone, give yourself peace before life ends โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜‡๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ give yourself the gift of forgiveness ๐Ÿ™

  • It was a wonderful movie and made my eyes in tears. When you loose someone who you love, it's hard to forget them easily, but sometimes people don't understand others feelings especially families till they face it in their own life by themselves. ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜”โค

Refreshing to watch a well written movie with people who actually knew how to act.

Well, I thought it was wonderful. I laughed out loud so many times (not many movies can do that). And I cried like a baby at the end, thinking of all the things that my family should say to one another. For that and for everything in between- I loved it!
  • This was wonderful- complex family issues and emotions. The cast was A+! Definitely recommend!

This was a GREAT MOVIE! The chemistry between Whoopi and Ving was different from The Long Walk Home! The letter reading to each other was sooo beautiful. ๐Ÿ†
