UPDATE: It has been confirmed that the "G" is swapping out its fleet of R46, R68 and R68A cars for R160s in order to streamline maintenance and future-proof the Crosstown line for CBTC. This marks a considerable step in the right direction for a line which has been neglected for some time!

On October 8th, 2021, two sets of R160 cars were used in "G" train service. R160s have very rarely been used in "G" train service since their introduction, and have never operated in passenger service as single units until now.

Now I’m that the G line got the R 160s make sure NYCT don’t try to operate the 5 car trains in OPTO service the trains are now 320 feet 20 feet over OPTO rules since it’s the weekend if u don’t see a conductor on the train bang it in It an violation of the rules If u didn’t have OPTO on the G line u would still have an 8 car trains

Does that mean some R160's are going to the B/D since they use R68/A too?
