Published 2024-05-03
Helldivers 2 is going to make a new requirement for PC players on Steam. A change that makes no sense and is going to lose players.

  • Fun Facts: 1: PSN is only available in 69 countries 2. There are 190 countries in the world 3. Making a PSN account and claiming to be in one of the 69 countries when you are not is a perma ban offense 4. Even if you slip through, you need to pay a monthly fee for a vpn just to play the game you already paid for
  • So if the Sony account is so essential to keeping players safe, why is there a kernel level anticheat?
  • @Ponial
How about the fact that not everywhere in the fucking world PSN accounts are accessible. But yea fuck us.
  • whats with big corpo thinking how pissing off its consumers is a good idea? were they oriented to "we should piss off fuck around with our consumers as much as possible"
  • @NathanTruby
For those who don't understand the problem, there's 2 major issues at play here: The first is that most of the playerbase is actually on PC and has been playing this game after it was released. The window for refunding has long passed for most players and if you're stubborn enough to not get a psn, then you're locked out of a game that you own (which companies have been doing and pushing a lot recently). The second, more major issue is that the Playstation network has been hacked on multiple occasions. It's not a secure network. Forcing thousands of players to join an insecure network is going to be a recipe for disaster in the coming months.

I don't know about you guys, but I did get a prompt for this like... right at the start. I had actually thought this was mandatory already.
  • @Jack-cc3qm
They want to keep players "safe". More like they want to be able to say to shareholders, "See?!? We got million of players! Do a stock split and make me hilariously richer!"
  • @BobOrKlaus
i love how the post has 0 likes and 700+ comments, shows how stupid that decision really is
  • @trlentjr
We are quitting the game because of this change by Sony. Thanks Arrowhead and thanks fellow helldivers for the great memories. We had an absolute blast on countless dives.
  • @OP10thNakama
I feel kind of bad for arrow head for this. Sony really F 'd up
  • @MB-dq4rt
While I agree with your statement overall, stop bashing Arrowhead for this, it's Sony the publisher who are the real problem and enforcing this utter garbage.
  • Refund time. Doesn't matter if it's 10000 hours of play. This is valid grounds for a refund.
  • @ryean8212
Give me like, 5K super credits and I'll consider
  • @Optimusj1975
Nah... I have ZERO reason to register at PSN, and the big reason that they let their user data to be stolen constantly to not register. If they are enforcing it for crossplay, just turn off crossplay for PC users instead of forcing us. If Pilestedt insist on that other bad decision, I'll enjoy the videos about the sheer drop on steamcharts for this game.
  • @Fairyhell
If steam allowed mass refund, im doing it lol. They literally used Steam as stepping stone for their platform.
  • @raeldri5867
This was Sony stupidity forcing AH, can't have an indie title beat the big boys in your console apparently 🙄😮‍💨
  • @stratometal
Demand a refund, Some countries will force them to refund because there was no disclaimer about the stupid PSN BS when they bought it front and center, doesn't matter if it was buried in the EULA. Check with your local Consumer Protection Agencies.
