Zack Snyder's movies are bleak because they show the parts of humanity we can't bare to see. His characters are often broken and tormented because humans are. He isn't afraid to show the humanity of an alien, the scars of an orphan, or the pain of a goddess. He humanized characters in a way they had never been before and people hated him for it.

The hate began after MOS. The Snyderverse is unkillable. Peak CBM cinema. I will never pay a penny for a DC product with Gunns name attached.

My problem with Snyders movies are the characters. ZSLJ is my favourite CBM, but I hate how he treats a lot of his characters. Superman is a boring and bland guy. No personality at all. Just like Captain America in the MCU but if he had powers. I’m not a fan of Batman killing people but my main problem was how stupid his arc was in BvS. Wonder Woman is also pretty boring. She’s basically just hot and strong that’s her whole trait
