  • “Your worst days prepare you for your best days”. That’s inspiring.

You know what else is suicide deterrent? A stable economy, accessible mental healthcare, and government and businesses that don't take advantage of people. Let's add privacy and protection for children online as well.

“Your worst days prepare you for your best days” out of pain this guy is paying it forward. Amen!

Just imagine the number of people who leaped from that bridge and regretted it on the way down. That is truly heartbreaking to think about, at least this net does give them a second chance.

Nets like these were added around our local Shopping Mall high rise car park because of the huge number of suicides. It's not until you get to know security staff they explain how frequent suicide attempts are. Especially around Christmas time. I'm very surprised it's taken so long for nets to be added to the Golden Gate Bridge

I remember hearing a guy story who actually ended up jumping, but survived. He said he took a bus there and was crying profusely the whole way there and said if just one person asked him what was wrong he probably wouldn't have went through with it. Glad that guy survived and also glad that this cop was here for this guy.

Imagine putting the same amount of effort into mental health services.

How about having a suicide deterrent soiciety as well?
  • @matchabunniez
My teachers son jumped off that bridge and committed suicide… it’s so sad my teacher cried a lot during our lecture. :( I hope these nets helps people.

At 2:04 “It’s designed to hurt. Falling 20 feet into tough steel mesh, it’s like falling into a cheese grader, It’s not going to end your pain it’s going to make it worse” That right there is a testament to how cruel and sadistic American society really is. That sentence right there sums up American culture in a nut shell!

If you can’t understand wanting to die you won’t understand how to help someone to want to live. The “nets” are nice. But all it does it stop ppl from jumping there. It doesn’t solve the torment they feel that makes them want to end their life.

rip to my friend wade. he was too kind for this world

Golden gate bridge is 4200ft long, or 8400ft of netting on both sides. $224M comes out to over $26,000 per feet of netting. Wow
  • @kuraizoh
My cousin committed suicide on the golden gate bridge last month. There's nothing you can change to stop a person that's determined to commit suicide.
  • @monicasmm
I appreciate the end where they say this is not a solution to the mental health crisis
  • @thomasbrown5649
224m for some steel nets is insane , someone had a big pay day
  • Ok, I have no idea how much stuff costs to build things but 224M to install a net on a bridge? I need someone to explain to me why its so high.
  • @codypendency9482
224 million dollars for nets ? Government is grossly inefficient.
  • @marcelamsss
It takes a lot for a person who was suicidal to talk about it.
