This did not work out. The regulator failed after a few months. The regulator installed when the 3G alternator was built with all new parts was supposed to be the one for ambulance use with dual alternators because it was more robust. It was replaced with a 180 amp, 6G, new (not rebuilt) upper alternator specified for a 2005 PowerStroke. No issues with that one.
