Number 5 is very important for a happy life. People hold on to the past and wish it were different but this stripes away from them the beauty of the present
  • 7 STOIC HABITS: ... 1. Be ready for the unexpected. 2. Don't worry. 3. Keep calm in chaos. 4. Be happy with what you have. 5. Accept everything that happens. 6. Talk less; listen more. 7. Do not fear death.
  • Being stoic is a great way to live. Basically, it's the Serenity Prayers in action...or inaction.
  • Life is going to continue to happen. Accept what is. Enjoy every moment of your life.

I've gone through a lot these past few months: I broke my leg in a car accident, saw the girl i really liked get with someone else, lost my job, had some real dark thoughts... A stoic attitude has helped me tremendously. When i think back to how I used to be, I realise that I should be proud of myself for how I handled these situations. I did not freak out or get too emotional but instead understood that this is life and that you have to remain calm and rational through it all. Particularly the car accident, I was very calm as I lay there thinking I could die, emergency services all around me, my leg was in so much pain and wobbling around like a noodle but I somehow kept calm. This is because I thought, "What has happened, happened, and for me to come out of this with the best chance of a positive outcome, I need to think rationally, keep calm, listen to instructions and make smart decisions." It was like I turned myself into my own stoic mentor in a time of crisis, i guess i followed rule 3. We are capable of so much more than we think, we just need to use our minds to its full capacity
  • If the whole world could do this we would be great... Cuz it's hard being around ppl who are not like this. But I will not be moved. Amen

Your mindset makes you're reality. If you say people will be nasty, that is all you will see in the world
