I trained Shotokan Karate as a kid until I couldn't give it more time at around 20, but I never understood one thing... Karate is all about strong, deep and rooted stances with straight linear movements, emphasizing on core balance but then it's Kumite time and they're jumping around like an epileptic kid on a seizure.

I understand that the different areas like Okinawa and mainland Japan are varied in Kumite style and it is a deep stance as opposed to a higher body stance I understand that you do not know how good your style is, is when you kumite against another style. The rest is who can pinpoint the other's defense and then counter attack. a bit of advice. To all girls and women out there. Never carry anything like a purse or bag in your dominant hand. Because if attacked you need your dominant hand to defend and counter attack. To lay that person out.
