The 9 Enneagram Personality Types Explained - Ian Cron

Hey, I’m Christy Wright, and this is my podcast channel. I’m a best-selling author, keynote speaker and business coach. I’m also a mom to three kids, a dog, and a hamster that I regrettably agreed to get my oldest son for his birthday. Most of all, I’m a storyteller and teacher. I love using stories to give you practical advice to grow in every area of your life. Whether you need encouragement in your life, practical advice for your business, or hope for your faith, you’re in the right place.

Every Monday, you can start your week with my faith-based show, Get Your Hopes Up, as I show you how to get to know God, get closer to Him and get your hopes up again. And every Tuesday, you can learn how to build, run and grow your business with my new show, Business Bootcamp, where I give you the practical steps you want and the tough love truth you need to succeed in business.

Whether you’re a loyal subscriber that’s been with me since the Business Boutique days in 2015, or you aren’t even sure how you ended up on this channel, I’m glad you’re here. And I hope you find the hope and help you’re looking for. For more encouragement in life, faith and business, check out ChristyWright.com.

I'm a 9, and I think it's a misconception that we 'don't care' or 'don't have an opinion'. I just operate with a persistent awareness that other people have a wide range of opinions, and for the most part, I can understand their rationale (that's what makes me a good mediator).
  • I left this interview because Christy wouldn’t shut up long enough for me to hear what he was saying. He has a presentation of the Enneagram that is excellent on YouTube. Check it out.

I was hoping to learn more about the enneagram and the different types as a whole, but this interview felt more like an affirmation of Christy being type 8. It was informative if you’re an 8, but if you want to learn more about the other types then you should look elsewhere.
  • The enneagram has helped me in so many ways. My relationship with my husband has improved 10 fold. I loved the book The Road Back to You. The audiobook is great.

Please give the guest more talking time...ask more questions.

I'm here to listen to Mr. Cron, not the host, yet most of the time host is the one that's talking...

It's so funny for me to read the comments after watching the interview as an 8w7 because so many people said she took over the interview and made it about herself and the whole time I was totally on board and loved her input
  • Shew blew right past something really interesting he said. He said "8s experience conflict as connection." I'm a 5 but I can relate to that a little bit as well. Anytime you have conflict, it's an opportunity to grow in an understanding each other.

While this video sparked an interest in eeneagrams the host is over talking the guests a lot. I'm halfway through and I'm not sure I'll finish. Hopefully he has other interviews on YT.

These discussions usually regress into people talking about how unique they are for whatever type they are. This is no different. "My husband is a 7!" I don't know your husband. Why would I care?

If we are not suppose to use the enneagram to “diagnosis the other” - what is the process like for Ian to understand his kids and their numbers? Are there certain ages of development where it’s better to introduce these ideas of the enneagram / unconscious motivation?
  • At this time I am reading The Road Back to you and have the study guide too... I am a 7.... and Wing 6/8 and Arrow 5/1
