Greatest take away from this is "Don't forget to squint."

"Don't overcomplicate things and confuse yourself" Me, overcomplicating everything and getting frustrated : wow I should try that

  • Finally, someone who actually explains what they're doing instead of promoting their brushes and telling the viewer to just get good.

“By the way I’m using reference here in case you haven’t figure that out yet.” I believe most art tutorials on YouTube should address that and put a link to their reference photo, that way those who want to practice the tutorial can follow along using the photo.

This is the best tutorial I’ve ever watched.. I was stuck with overblending and never actually putting into the shadows and highlights until it was kinda too late...
  • @SumiroTatsuya
I'd love a more in depth tutorial of this lazy method. Skins hard brr
  • @rydenoliver8796
This is genuinely the tutorial an artist NEEDS to start out with. Thank you so much for this. Bless.
  • How was this video just as, if not even more informative than a few of the 10+ minute art tutorials I see?! Great job, and good music choice :)
  • @jesperjee
It looks so simple but the problem is the various brushes I feel, how and when to use them.
  • @kenn1936
THANK YOU - for a simple, no-nonsense tutorial that does not take an hour and complicate things. For beginners, those tutorials are too overwhelming. What you have described here is contouring and highlighting, and we all know what those are, so this is an awesome tutorial. I appreciate the way you have shown how to do this.
  • @papkinn
I'm just happy to see someone who shows whole process instead of doing a jump cut from literal sketch to almost finished drawing
  • @whyhe11othere
Not gonna lie i really prefer these straight to the point tutorials!! Very compact and no need to skip throughout parts of the video, thanks for this!
  • @Whoknkows1236
Boy I needed this. I’ve been stressing about learning how to paint. Every procreate video I find the YouTuber uses customs brushes that I don’t have. I’m noticing a pattern the more information I keep finding tho! IMMA GET IT DOWN SOON! Thank you ❤️
  • @gianenci
I must say: this is one of the best tutorial I've ever seen. So direct and helpful. It teaches way better than 90% of the tutorial out there in 90% less time. Awesome!
