A RDR1 Scene That Definitely Hits Different After Completing RDR2 - Red Dead Redemption

I say this because if you think about it, after John, in the epilogue, loses Abigail and Jack at pronghorn ranch and BUYS Beecher’s Hope and literally builds it with the help of former gang members, I most definitely feel something in me after John is forced to hunt down the remaining members and have his family held hostage and after all that time spent in the story to get back to them, it feels surreal to walk back into Beechers hope after building it and working it and remembering Charles and Sadie being there and finally going back to where the story in RDR 2 left off. Worth a replay. Such a damn shame rockstar had to cancel the remaster for freaking GTA 6 man

  • My favourite part of RDR1 was when Dutch said ‘It’s Dutchin’ time’ and then jumped off a cliff

"Hold your excuses until you figure out which one to use" I love that line 😂

Damn. Honestly, these graphics hold up incredibly well for a game that’s over a decade old
  • This reunion hits so damn hard after finishing both RDR1 and RDR2. With RDR1, it hits cause you worked so hard and it finally pays off, but it gets taken away when John’s killed. With RDR2, it hits because you’re seeing these characters again and actually seeing the very house you built with your family all welcoming you back.

I love the outfit John is wearing in this scene. He looks like he just stumbled home after Coachella. No wonder Abigail was worried she's never see him again.

R* did a great job casting a soundalike as Abigail for her RDR2 actress, it's very difficult to tell their voices apart

Uncle: is sober for 0.1 seconds John’s entire farm:

"I never thought I'd see this day again." The number of times John thought he'd never see Abigail and Jack again, either by the Pinkertons, the Goverment, Dutch or Abigail herself, "Again" really hits hard.
  • My favorite part of the whole game was when John said, "It's time for my Red Dead Redemption".

the mission in 2 where john just takes Abigail on a date and proposes had me crying like a baby. This series is a masterpiece.
  • The prequel writing in the RDR series is perfectly done, just like Better Call Saul. Everything fits together so perfectly.

yeah after you know how horrible her cooking is in the rdr2, knowing abigail learned to cook weeks before johns death hits HARD

Once I finished RDR2 I just pretended the events of the first game never happened and John and his family lived happily ever after.
  • The Virgin jack martson: let's the cattle and chickens get eatin/escape The Chad uncle: says don't go blamin me when they haven't said his name
  • "You saw Dutch? ... And Bill? ... And you didn't go back to 'em?" has an entire freaking highlight reel of the 2nd game flash through the mind "I left that life. Just as you left yours."

John did not hug Uncle because of his lumbago, and hug would hurt. How watchful of him! This game has so many details!
  • My favorite quote of John's comes from this scene. Always puts a smile on myself at the same time as giving food for thought. Because what he says is true.
  • I just realized something. Uncle was the most helpful of the whole gang. When people looked down at Uncle they were realizing they were very productive in comparison which made them feel better about themselves and when they still felt like shit but didn't feel like arguing or getting in a fight they could insult and threaten Uncle and be guaranteed he'd take it all without trying to fight it out. He was a walking ( or sleeping ) morale booster. This scene proves another thing. John kept Uncle because of Jack. John was aware that his relationship with Jack was tense. He wanted to preserve it. In this scene, Uncle was the perfect outlet for John because he could avoid blaming his son, putting the blame on Uncle instead!
