The whole time I was distracted by the fact that the lil' guy's sunglasses were sitting on his forehead instead of his nose.

"Being in a mocap suit is the best thing that has ever happened to me." Well... I am sorry my friend.

This is the coolest and most informative product review ever! Thank you for sharing.
  • Man, as we say the pleasure is in the journey and not necessarily the destination ! For me, you are a star. Helped me so much in my research through your detailed show

In Unreal Engine simply deactivate the Physics for your MetaHuman characters hair via the Hair Groom element. It will kill the janky hair issues trust me I had the same issue.
  • Oh my god! So FUNNY. Thank you for giving us these details about Rokoko! You saved my life!

does it taakes as long to set up and clean up? would you animate faster mixing mixamo mocap animations than cleaning up the entire animation from rococo . .im new in this so im not sure .im planning to do 5 minutes long videos .. so not sure if whats faster to produce mocap cleaning animate with mixamo or just getting the vive motion sensors and just clean up the animation .

This was a really useful video thank you! I'm wondering how you feel about how perception neuron stacks up next to Rokoko

It's really amazing how Reallusion makes it look like you will spend $300 for iClone/Character Creator. By the time you get done with 3DXChange, Motion Live, the Facial Profile, the Rokoko Profile, Smartsuit Pro II, iPhone, and everything else you need, you'll be lucky to get away with under $7,000. And that doesn't even include a high end computer. And you will soon find that you'll need two Rokoko suits to facilitate character interaction, which is very tricky with one.

BUT....you decided to keep it, even when you knew about their 30 day warranty. And you claim it is 'awesome.' So thanks for your review. But wow...click bait title beware.
  • @MiguePizar
So in the end, is there a suit that works plug and play in unreal engine 5 for live streaming and or recording without having to tweak like the face live link?

The pipeline: Daz + Metapipe + Maya 2023 + Metahuman + Unreal engine UE5.4 wll cost only 180$. About mocap, i think that video to mocap looks finally now the less expensive and the best approach for simple animations. Rocooco (2 cameras) is 240$ per year. With AI, the progress are so fast...NVidia also works about solutions for video to mocap.

Finally a realistic video. Not everything is "perfect" like with every other video youtube that I've seen. Everyone has been like "this is magic! **speaking with whisper: With some cleanup**. Not a single video showing actual cleanup and a screwed up mocap. The only cleanup I saw was someone with a slight leaning hip (laugh). The "turn off everything in your home" and "clear out all metal devices" is completely unrealistic. Not to mention no other device requires this. That seems to be a suite-only issue.
  • Thanks for amazing video, it helped us to understand all the pains in the mocap pipeline

Great review Moon, we definitely need more real life information about mocap products on the market. I cant figure out the best indie option so far.
  • @tybost
This is one of the most important videos on this product and I wish you'd get your hands on the Smartsuit Pro II for another smackdown.

Had my Rokoko suit now for over a year and its awesome! People have to do their homework, YES you will need to do some clean up work, but it gets you 85% of the way there, and YES you will have to have a good understanding of the software you are using. Some people think it will just work like magic out of the box, there is work needed to be done but the Rokoko suit can save you hours and even days of work. I can mo cap a scene in around 30 mins then a couple hours clean up work which would have taken a couple of weeks or more animating by hand. Would i recommend the Rokoko smart suit pro, 100% YES!

Thanks so much for this! Just got my suit up and running yesterday and have been thoroughly disappointed. And perplexed because I did a crap ton of research on this. Built a custom rig. Tested with their sample mocap files and have had zero usable recordings so far. Much help and appreciated.
