CORRECTION: Iron Hands are from MEDUSA not Deliverance. Sorry, my fleshy mind is clearly too weak!
  • @YetMoreCupsOfTea
Make a successor. Turn them into whoever you want them to be and claim they don't know who their progenitor is anymore, and use whatever rules you want.
  • @rowanirish
Medusa. Iron Hands Homeworld is Medusa. It ties in with Ferrus Manus being affectionately known as The Gorgon.

I cant leave my Yellow Lads behind. Dorn is my main man.

I've been maining Iron Snakes since I got into 40k at the launch of Leviathan. Classic Greek themed, superstitious and non-codex compliant Ultramarine successors from the water world Ithaka. In lore they're very melee focused with spear and shield phalanx formations, and utilize attack dogs.

Who else is here is new to 40K, picked Black Templars just because they were cool… then finding out they are BEAST
  • @Darksky1001able
I started with the Fists. Eventually went Templars. I use both. One for when i wanna shoot, another for when i wanna beat face.
  • Always going to be a Blood Angels fanboy for a myriad of reasons: 1 - Red, Black and Gold are my 3 favorite colors, and favorite color combination (wife and I chose them for our wedding well before I even started playing) 2 - The Angelic/Vampiric aesthetic absolutely is my jam. Dracula was my favorite horror novel growing up, and Michael the archangel was always my chosen patron. Sanguinius is basically them both combined. 3 - I'm a sucker for tragic heroes, especially ones who not only resist, but also weaponize, the darkness that plagues them, whatever that looks like. 4 - Absolutely LOVE the brutal melee and aerial specialist gameplay that they have. Nothing is more fun, in my mind, then launching through the air on wings of jet-fueled fire, and landing in a cataclysmic charge to rip & tear in a face-to-face encounter. In short, you combine Doom Guy, Michael the Archangel, and Count Dracula, and wrap him up in 2000 lbs of ceramite, and you have a Blood Angel.

I'm only really a fan of Salamanders. I like the Lore of them being the "Good Guys", and Green is my favorite color. Oh and Imperial Fist, because I really like the Centurions. I don't collect Space marines but i have been considering just getting the centurions kit to build and paint for fun. I love the lore of a Space Marine wearing armor for his armor. lol
  • There are two ways to go about this: - the game-y route (and honestly perfectly reasonable and perhaps the more logical) is to invent your own scheme and play any rules you like no matter what GW does in the future with paint determining rules (right now, I think that is absolutely the way to go and hope GW keeps up the “you don’t get locked into rules by paint job” - embracing the lore and theme so strongly you don’t care and you go for one chapter anyway. Neither is a wrong way to play space marines.
  • @RedCometNurse
My army is Crimson Fists. They also give me an excuse to play them as whatever I want, as they are more pragmatic than their Imperial Fists predecessors. I am going to try running them as an Anvil Siege Force, but if that ends up boring me or frustrating me, I will likely revert back to the Gladius.

You forgot to mention that Deathwatch have some really great options on the hobby side. You can also mix in chapter specific models and upgrade kits. For example I use the terminator librarian from space hulk (2014) as well as a primaris sword brethren as a captain.
  • @AsbakNL
Clearly raptors chapter since even geedubs has added transfers for them in boxes over founding chapters 😉
  • @TheAtomicSpoon
You have the IH home world as Deliverance instead of Medusa. :P Maybe one day I'll revive my Red Talons. One day.

Space wolves fan since 2005. My parents gifted me a boxed set one Christmas and I’ve been obsessed ever since. Have scars all over from cutting up my hands via an exacto knife as a kid. At 31 I’m re entering it - albeit on a budget so hello 3d printing…..but I’m amazed by all the new models and love the wolves got!
  • @winterwolfcr7
Space Wolves! The Vlka Fenryka are definitely my favorite. I love them lore and style. I do also like how they very much how like they Primarch have convinced people they are more basic savages than they really are. Letting their foes underestimate them.
  • @MrFiremagnet
It doesn't matter now. Anything plays as anything, and I'm here for it. Pick up the wackiest color scheme and roll with it.
  • I just sat down to write up a new army list and wondered which chapter to base it on. Perfect timing! Keep up the good work :)
  • @ninjarmy
I'm just going with deathwatch and keeping a wide enough variety of models that I can use them as any of the new detachments, then just stick on a chapter character if I want a specific chapter
