People are gonna look back at this era the same way people go back and view Yeezus and The Life of Pablo. I struggled with the idea of reckoning with what ye has done post Donda, but this album, along with the listening parties, was an event. A conglomerate of artists coming together to pay Tribute to his mother, Donda West. It’s bloated and messy, sure. I realize that the allure of this album comes from the trilogy of listening parties and the mythos of the album being finished and worked on at the stadiums, but watching back this footage and seeing the stage being put together, man. It’s like the Runaway film but live. I don’t think he’ll ever pull something as grand and as artistic as this ever again.
