Oliver Reed is now best remembered for the chat show appearances where he turned up apparently 18 sheets to the wind and made an arse of himself. It was not always so. When sober, he was a dream guest. Lucid, interesting, thoughtful, funny and a fund of superb anecdotes. Here he is in 1973, with Parky, Dame Isobel Barnett, and Mickey & Sherri Spillane. Remember him THIS way.

The charisma of Oliver Reed is a very rare trait. His magnetism is quite astounding.

Such a great conversationalist. No one tells stories like Oliver. I could listen to him speaking all day and never get tired of it.šŸ˜Š

The world is a darker place without stand out characters like this. A man who walked his own line. Great to watch.

Well spoken and someone you could sit and listen to for ages and compare that to what graces the screens nowadays. RIP Ollie.

Wonderful interview, Oliver Reed remains one of my all-time favorite actors and people. Such a brilliant man. Even with his problems, there were also so many people who were publicly unkind to the man. It would have been a joy to sit down and talk to him over dinner. Greatness. It's nice to see how much Mr. Spillane enjoyed listening to him.

What a truely facinating man he was, he had everything going for him, great looks, amazing charisma, superb speaking and acting skills, Charm, and a great sense of humour, yet still quite vulnerable and grounded, non of your typical hippocratic air head twirly acting types here!, i could listen to him all day, god bless you Ollie! RIP

He has an amazing voice. As a child I loved him, but always felt a tinge of sorrow for him too.
  • Oliver Reed was a great actor, served his Country with National Service and a decent man. Although he liked a drink or two if he saw a person that needed help crossing the road he would help. Yes he was out spoken at times but that was part of his appeal.. R.I.P.
  • I have seen many an interview with Oliver Reed and damn I wish he was still alive. One of the greatest men to have ever graced the screen. Words cannot describe this genuinely brilliant, sincere and exuberant ray of light that only Oliver Reed could posess.... sorely missed!

He was such a troubled man. But unforgettable and I'm happy he was immortalised in the films he starred in. He was so brilliantly talented.
  • He was a true gent, easy on the eye ,well spoken and incredibly intelligent this interview given the state the world is in today makes you realise that nothings changed..Oliver Reed gone too soon :(

What a man reminds me of my father never a dull moment very well spoken gentleman Gone but never forgotten
  • I met him when he lived in Wimbledon. I had a friend (a rich twit) at the time who knew him. He was gorgeous, sexy and charming and was hilarious. I was only 17 and wished that I was older. I should have got his autograph but was too besotted to remember to get it.

I liked Oliver Reed because despite all his flaws, he came across as an actual human being, and not like most other celebrities with their tightly controlled images, publicists and whatnot.

We need people like Oliver Reed, it's rather dull without him.
  • Refreshing to hear the guests talk uninterrupted by the host as in most American talk shows.

I remember meeting Oliver in the pub in 1976 we had a great conversation + 6 drinks and I never forget his advice as we both have dyslexia. I didnā€™t make as much money as he did but I did very well for my self and to this day I still stick to what he told me. God rest his soul šŸ™
