I love how in every "boss tutorial" the bosses never move much. But when I fight them they never sit still...

Good for you because the dragon for you moves 1 km per year but for me the dragon goes at the speed of light

"pick a bow that works with your build" My bow options as a strength build:

This is more like an archer build advantage than a boss cheese

I was trying so hard not to cheese this guy. I've never cheesed a boss but I've been stuck on this guy longer than manus of the abyss.

I don't know if they fixed it. But that guy is like Jason. I sprint to the other side. Look behind me, and he's right there. Walking slow as hell

I’m going to feel terrible doing this but he’s the last boss I have to beat and I just wanna feel happiness.
  • @notveryultraguy
As soon as I went in he kept getting too close and I kept dying
  • Bloody hell, thank you! Five years of on/off struggling, hours of grinding, all to one shot him with this method. Finally got to wear his and Ornstein's outfit. :)

He seems to just come for me no matter where I am. I can't get any distance from him.

Worked well for me. I found that taking out the dragon with melee is easier since he goes all over and is hard to hit. I couldn't get him to just walk toward me like in the video. Once the dragon was down it was just staying as far away as possible and rolling through the mist.
  • It worked perfectly i literally killed him in my first try and i only use a long bow plus 9. You saved me a lot of time and frustration and btw i think it’s ok to do this kind of stuff cause you are using tools that are in the game and it makes you to solve problems in the most practical way. Thanks!
  • This looks so impressive, but honestly, I have no idea why he behaves so passive in your fight. I've tried this for hours now, but it seems to impossible to get some distance between me and him. The moment I run away he takes off and lands in front of me to attack, there's not a second to aim without getting hit instantly :/

Great video! I could beat phase 1 no problem but struggled hard on the nameless king even after watching other videos. After watching this, I beat him on the first try using my dragonrider bow. Thank you!!!
  • How does the dragon not chase you at all. I can't even hit 2 shots without him dashing at me, shooting fire at me, and throwing lighting at me within seconds

Thank you so so much. Been stuck for so long. Remembered I had seen this guide and watched again. Went and got the bow and upgraded it to max. And within 5 tries I did it.

I think most people have trouble with this boss because he delays his attacks to throw off your timing and the time in between the wind up and his actual attacks is super short sometimes.

Thanks, man! I was breezing through DS3 until I hit this helluva brickwall called Nameless King. I made a break that allowed me to finish (and get all achievements) in both DS2 and DS1. When I got back to DS3 this boss was still weeping the floor with my ass until I found this tutorial. I died a couple of times because I was been greedy and letting him get close (and his jump attacks cover an absurd distance) but after putting in my mind that playing defensely was the right approach he died like a bloody hedgehog with little to no effort.

I’ve tried this a dozen times now. Dragon just keeps rapidly following after you; impossible to get enough distance.
