  • When I saw Oppenheimer in theaters and nobody laughed during the Strays trailer, I knew I was surrounded by mature adults.
  • Godzilla: Minus One was a great addition to the Japanese Godzilla franchise. I especially love how Godzilla moved around like an animatronic to make the movie feel classic.

Im glad Schaffrillas mentioned Nimona. I hope he will make a full analysis on why its Blue Sky's magnum opus soon
  • Minus one better win that ONE Oscar it was nominated for. (Rip spiderverse soundtrack)

William talking about Godzilla Minus One for 11 minutes was the best part of the whole review, I could honestly listen to that dude talk about Godzilla for a whole hour. The most heartbreaking thing was finding out Schaff wasn't a Godzilla fan which I thought cause all the references in his videos but it was pry William's doing all along, I knew I could trust William once he referenced the Reiwa era and CORNMAN.

The Iron Claw is getting slept on so hard. Probably one of the most devastating movies I've seen in a while.

As one of the many How Do You Live translators over the world, I really couldn't wait for your opinion on it, and man am I glad you got what the movie is all about. When I left the theatre premiere, I was hearing people talking about how they didn't really get it, and how they would rather wait for random Youtube people to explain the movie to them, while I was just walking by and thinking how clear it is in its message. Then again, I did have to watch it, like, three times before the premiere, so I had a bit of a headstart in that regard. I'm just glad Miyazaki got to put all of his favorite things into a single picture, and I sincerely hope he breaks the curse of his family (apparently no one lived beyond 80 among his relatives?) and lives long enough to give us something else. Then again, even if he doesn't, a sendoff like this would be more than worthy of a man of his caliber.

can we just get William interrupting every video to talk about Godzilla from now on?
  • @DanGamingFan2846
Across the Spiderverse is a masterpiece in almost every way, and it sucks how much it's being absolutely snubbed at the Oscars this year. It's definitely a shoe-in for best animated feature, but really? It wasn't worthy of any other award? It deserves best original score far more than Dial of Destiny ever did. Daniel Pemberton deserves so much more recognition. The academy needs to recognize Animation as the fantastic, respectable medium it is.

i didnt mind bottoms having a liar reveal plot bc the sequence of avril lavigne's complicated as the coach crosses out "feminism" was worth all of it.
  • @jacobleistra2752
Seeing The Boy and the Heron in theaters was such a breathtaking experience for me.
  • @Jonathan_Collins
Godzilla Minus One is to 2023 what Top Gun Maverick was to 2022. What an unexpected masterpiece. This movie 100% delivers. Even though Godzilla is actually much smaller, he is considerably more fearsome. That heat ray gave me chills!
  • @axo10tlz80
I’m so glad SOMEONE sees The Holdovers as the absolute masterpiece it is
  • @ravedeath7690
holy shit THANKYOU for having a sensible take on the May December discourse. like yeah there were moments that were meant to satirize the shallowness of Juliane Moore's character, but that doesn't mean it was meant to be funny/campy.
  • In an NHK documentary about the years leading to The Boy And The Heron's production / BTS of the film, Miyazaki actually explains he modeled the boy after himself, and the granduncle is actually Isao Takahata, his mentor and colleague who sadly passed away. Finally, the Heron is inspired by his producer Suzuki. Their relationship is at the core of the film :)

I had towering expectations for The Boy and the Heron and was still blown away
  • @Venom-Boiii
Godzilla Minus One was one of the best experiences I’ve had in a movie theatre. It was phenomenal, and I feel sad for all the people who didn’t get to see it before it left theaters. One detail that I only recently picked up was whenever the characters are talking about Godzilla, the monster’s footsteps are played very subtly on the theatre’s subwoofers, as if he’s approaching. Just amazing. Also, it has my favorite film score. The best tracks in the movie are “Fear”, “Divine”, “Unscathed”, “Resolution”, and “Last”. Give these a listen, they’re great.
  • @kraszyfox
OMG I was an extra in the Holdovers I'm so glad you loved it, I also got to meet Alexander.
  • @mackielunkey2205
What I loved the most about Holdovers is how they put a spin on its tropes, making them jerks with bonafide hearts of gold. Paul may seem like a curmudgeonly snob, but in reality, he has a strong sense of morality that puts him at odds with the ethically questionable personnel at the school, and causes him to be closed minded. And Angus is shown to be in a lot of pain over his mom abandoning him, but it also helps him relate to other kids who have similar struggles. I absolutely loved their dynamic, where they would not be afraid to talk about how much of a pain in the ass they are toward each other, but are wholeheartedly willing to help each other when the chips are down. There was also this scene in the near the end where Angus sneaks out on Paul and Paul was about to go on his speech on how Angus broke his trust, and I was like "here we go, the third act misunderstanding fallout scene", but NO! Angus confesses about his dad being alive, and it made me realize that the whole reason he wanted to go to Boston in the first place was to see his dad.
