  • Am I the only one that thinks that some of the 80s trends are slowly but surely coming back??
  • @robicarm
They forgot parachute pants, flannel shirts, wide hip belts, skin tight jeans, members only jackets, Bermuda shorts, jelly sandel's, jelly bracelets and butterfly clips (that's right it started in the 80's folks), mirrored aviator/or horn rim sunglasses. Morten Harket from A-Ha was my dream.

I graduated high school in 82 - every girl had a perm, every guy had a mullet and yes workout gear was worn with stilettos to school, believe it or not.
  • Lately I’ve been having an obsession with the 80s and it’s fashion, I was born in 1999 😂 I’ve noticed that more 80s/90s style clothes are making a comeback with a modern twist and I’m living for it

I got married in '83 (yes, I'm old) and I remember the decade a little too well. You forgot those drop-waisted calico farm wife dresses that were fancy wear for 4 or 5 years. Flats with stirrup pants. Early mullets and layered mall hair- remember Jessica Hahn> I had hair like her, until she hit the scene and I was so shocked by the whole mess that I went and had my hair cut. (It looked like Krystal from Dynasty.) Evening soaps were big, and there was a LOT of glitz. Bob Mackie's stuff was EVERYWHERE. I also remember iridescent makeup- I had a lipstick and nail polish pair that were a light magenta, until you turned, and then they were chartreuse. Pleated jeans were big too. And in 78-82ish, Gunne Sax dresses and skirts were still really big, as were Famolare or Cherokee shoes. What am I missing? Not sure. But parts of the 80s styles were pretty cool. Others- not so much. But I prefer today, where you're pretty much able to wear anything and be in style. (Said while wearing yoga pants and a Doctor Who t-shirt. ;-) )

"Lots of makeup" and "dramatic, colorful makeup" are very, very different things.

The things I remember from the 80s were: side pony tails, off the shoulder tops with a tank top exposed underneath, the look of having a patterned seater match your leg warmers (over jeans not for a workout) of the same pattern, and a button up shirt buttoned all the way to the top with an elaborate pin at the top. None of these were mentioned.
  • The 80's were the best time to be a child; toys were better made, we had it all!
  • @Unsure808
Was anyone else a little happy when they used Heathers in the thumbnail?...no...just me?...okay.

Stranger Things and IT are slowly bringing back the 80's
  • @CaptchaNeon
The 80’s were incredible because it was a time when people in the US didn’t worry about much, a lot of people had jobs and were able to shop more than ever before. Considering I grew up during the 80’s I absolutely loved and still love Neon!
  • the 80s was by far the best decade. no question about it. fashion. music. movies. trends. everything
  • @chamab.6800
Miami Vice was killin' the game back in the day. Clothes, style even the music. I was young but I remember "Miami Vice" became a whole lifestyle.
  • @Lindavdrest
The 80s are my favorite decade. I love the fashion, music, movies, overall esthetics. It's so glamourous and colorful!
