I'm 63 and, when I was growing up, we were taught talking about money was rude. We never learned how to budget or invest, and our parents assured us Social Security and our pension would be there for us when we retired. My parents paid $28K for their 2400SF home in 1963 while I paid $150K for mine (1700SF) in 1994 - more than 5X! And I remember a time when interest rates were 14%.

My fave gen z saying/word is, “extra.” I feel it’s a perfect way to describe some people/things. Also, my gen alpha kids the other day were dancing to Cotton Eye Joe, and wouldn’t believe me that it isn’t a new song 🤦🏻♀️ I had to sing it all to prove it (because as an elder millennial I apparently only know “old” songs 🙄😅)

I have NO idea why they say Gen-Z wears crew socks like what no I could never. It was one thing for lacrosse in high school but I stay wearing no show socks
