This is a great conventional scanner (non-digital). Some people say why bother because a lot of fire and police bands are P25 Phase II but a lot of areas there are analog stations that rebroadcast those P25 channels!

800-900 MHz is important. I have a Radio Shack PRO-2050 from the late '90s, non digital, and there is a ton of interesting stuff in the 800-900 MHz bands.

I bought one off of ebay earlier this morning for $38 plus shipping. Now watching your vid guys, what a funny coincidence !! I've got the BC75xlt and think knowing that one will help with navigating the 125. Supposed to arrive on Monday. Super excited!!
  • i own three bc125at, each one came with a slight difference in the supplied cable. one is thicker than the other two. one very large choke. (as much mass as line 3). one only has one smaller choke. (as compared to the one below). one has two larger choke's. (as compared to the one above). any way to know when was made by the ser numbers? aka: new made. or sitting for years in a warehouse.

I've had so many scanners in the past and I have never been able to pick up Aviation, Marine, Mlilitary or Railroads all I could ever hear were repeaters and a few over the air Fire depts.

I have the BC125AT for railfanning. What's the ideal "next step up" that would offer internal recording so we can play back a transmission we missed live? I know the SDS-100/200 are built around trunking (and beyond); how are those at analog scanning? Is there anything worthwhile in between?

I have the Whistler WS 1010WA 400 Channel Memory. Its so much easy to program, them the Bearcat BC125AT.
  • @CrepitusRex
Would it be too much to ask if maybe, just maybe one of you could actually use it while explaining the functionality?
  • I think these guys need to get a room. They like to talk to each other too much..

Too many acronyms. You are communicating to a wide audience here.

lmao. I heard him say some of them are going to "usb micro" soon, and I thought, "how old is this video?" 7 months as of now! Noone should be going to usb micro in 2023. Probably means usb-c. I truly hope so. I know things like this tend to be behind the curve, but surely they're going c.
