I loved Emily Wilde but I totally understand the bleak winter feels, it was very atmospheric in that way. I hope you have fewer disappointing reads in 2024!

i actually didn't mind 19 claws and a black bird - but it defs was one of the short story collections i found harder to get into! i also haven't read 'tender is the flesh' yet, so maybe i didn't have as high expectations. fingers crossed 2024 is a better year for sequels for you haha <3

Honestly it felt like 2023 in general was disappointing in a way. I had some 5 star reads but it didn't feel like a strong reading year for me in general so I'm hoping 2024 changes that π€

I donβt think Iβve heard a single good review for Storm of Echoes. Pretty much my entire reason for not picking up the series.

Sigh π Disappointments. Not a lot of luck with sequels for you, looks like. I dnf'd Death Gate Cycle. I liked book one but was told book2 wouldn't be for me and hadn't heard much about the ending so decided to pass on the series.
