Greatest trailer ever. Know nothing about RPGs saw this trailer and went "I'm getting that" 23 years on. Still play it.
  • That tune made this advert. It's called The Final Encounter and the composer was Steven Baker.

Still get Goosebumps watching this 24 years later, I think I broke the demo disk it came on I watched it so many times! I still have my original copy of the game I got in 1997 aged 15 it has pride of place on my shelf as possibly one the greatest game of all time.

When they quoted "might be one of the best RPGs ever made" boy they were right, I remember this on a PS1 demo, my heart was pumping I was only like 11 at the time, I knew I had to work my ass off in my first year of high school in order to have this for Xmas from my parents and I did and it was worth it
  • I was 14 when I first saw this, I'm 40 now. Still chills all fuckin' day

1997 watching this trailer on TV as an 11 year old. This pretty much made me a gamer.

I think this is the one I’ve been looking for your many years. There was a random demo console up in my local Bel-Air grocery store in Sacto and I remember this blowing me away. I actually already had the game but didn’t understand how to play it at this point. I think it helped me get further into it.

I watch this on a regular basis. Simply amazing

I would LOVE to see them give this music a remaster and incorporate into FF7 Rebirth!
  • @zodzecht
Would love to see a remake side by side version of this trailer with the same music

One of the greatest games of all time. This and Ocarina of Time. Graphics have come a long way, but it shows that a good story can allow ppl to overlook graphics. I still play Zelda to this day bc of how great the story is and how extensive the world is. Will need to get a PS1 in order to bring back some of these classics while they’re still available

Ah man... this music. I must’ve burned the disc where I played it so often before the game came out. I was then disappointed when this score wasn’t in the game

GOD, ALL THESE SHIVERS, EMOTIONS AND NOSTALGIA! I feel so blessed I was born in 80's so that I was able to play this game in 90's. I remember how sis and I were visiting our neighbor. We were watching some game trailers back then and our neighbor's kids wanted to skip this trailer, saying it was boring (their parents allowed them to play only some Mikey Mouse games), but sis insisted we wanted to see it. And it was LOVE right away, in the first seconds! Sis was like; "Yeah, we are going to get that game!" and she did buy that game for us! This is honestly, by far, the best game ever. To be honest, I didn't like the remake even near as much as I like this original game.

Here because of Vampire Survivor’s parody teaser.

Square new they had struck gold with this game even before it’s release.
