The Maqlu ritual is an ancient Mesoptoamian ritual invoking the Shamash, the god of the sun and justice, the destroy those that work evil magic and to unbind that sorcery. This ancient, 3000 year old ritual, is among the most complex forms of counter-magic known in the world. Join me as I explore this fascinating magical ritual!

I love the dry humor you put in these. Absolutely great.

Asafetida!!! I remember when I was a boy, a piece of asafetida was hung by a string around my neck to ward off my catching a cold in winter. For those who don't know, it's a brown resin, supposed to smell really bad (I sort of liked the smell, actually). I never head that head colds were caused by evil spirits, but I suppose asafetida has been used for that for thousands of years

As an Assyrian witch I would LOVE to be a part of recreating this ritual. I've been a practicing with for over 20 years and barely know anything about my ancestor's magical ways. Thanks for this.

New framing? Love it, much more badass also noticed you worked on the cuts and transitions and the mystic memes keep getting spicier

Thank you! This is so interesting, I'm Chaldean (a group native to Iraq) and we trace our roots back to Mesopotamia. It's difficult to find good content on this stuff or on anything about my roots in general. I don't know why but stuff like this just makes me feel a greater connectedness. If you have any other recommended readings that relate more generally to Babylonian or Mesopotamian occultism please do share! :)

often wondered if the idea of the burning purification idea came after we started cooking meat, and how the burning/cooking seemed to stop many diseases and parasites, this burning/purification is old and found all over the world, the ancient druids used to do this same thing, running their bulls through the flames to purify them, for example

"Pure cringe friends." I loled 🤣. Great video as always my friend and I agree, this subject deserves much more respect than it gets on the History Channel via the "Chariots of the Gods?" usual suspects.

This channel is absolutely fascinating. My some odd Great Grandfather was a Hex Painter and Exorcist in early 19th Century Ontario, so besides my own fascination with folklore and mythology, I feel a personal connection to counter magic rituals.

What a splendid acknowledgement of the inherent dignity and value of those who practice witchcraft in the modern context by disclaiming your language. Well done, sir.
  • Yes! I am so glad to hear you advocating that kind of interdisciplinary investigation! I've been struggling for years to figure out how to increase the flow of dialogue between experts in the different fields I've been independently studying. It would do a lot to help with the Ancient Aliens problem that you described at the very end. That very body of literature has made it incredibly difficult for me to have intelligent discussions with my peers about a lot of esoteric topics. I would really just like to get to a point where these topics can comfortably fit into our casual conversations. I think if we could establish a clearer picture of how our global religious ecosystem formed and for what purpose, we could arrive at conscious solutions to the unconscious problems that religious behaviors are designed to solve.

The lords work🙏🏻thank you. Many blessings. Bread and salt
  • I ❤️‍🔥ESOTERICA and I’ve always felt “closeness” to Mesopotamia/Phoenicians and even Ancient civilisations like Akkadians, Aztecs, Mayans and so forth, therefore thank you very much for this X 🤘🏻😈🤘🏻🥰🔥🔥🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥✨🧿✨🙌🏻👌🏻

Malevolent Magic Doer People would be a great post punk band.
  • I've been going through your videos out of curiosity recently and find them very interesting. The more we learn the more we realize nothing ever really changes. We are dealing with much of the same issues in our world today as they were back then. They had a financial system based in necromancy and so do we. They had "plague" gods, and so do we. It goes on and on and on and on... I appreciate your efforts in regarding to sharing this information and enjoy your perspective. Thanks.

Might be cool if you did a cunning folk video, I don't know a tremendous amount about them so I'm not suggesting anything specific but I just noticed you mentioned them here.
  • Right on. “Mr Sumerian tablet” is very questionable and telling at the same time as to being related to the coming alien hoax. I digress. Great content here and I love the resource presentation greatly. Thank you very much
