imagine having to explain this in the history books "We lost half our home fleet to a single ship"

I like how they didn't initiate until they were hit. The Kaylon got the message after two attempts to stop them. Damn that weapon was insane.
  • What started off as "Family Guy in Space" has matured into quite the sci-fi franchise with great space battles, excellent character development, and genuinely good story line.

The Kaylon vessels are perhaps the closest to realistic space fighting I've seen. Not needing to making big arching turns or have any concept of up or down. They spin in any direction is necessary for combat or travel.
  • MacFarlane might be a humor guy, but he does symbolism really well. The Union initiated the device twice to demonstrate its potency as a war stopping weapon of mass destruction, in order to get the Kaylon to surrender. Pretty much exactly like WW2.

Just for once I want to hear Ed mercer say “giggity”

Orville must have one of the highest kill counts in the galaxy, and she’s the equivalent of a destroyer escort.

This season has really cemented the fact that this show is the Best Trek we've gotten since TNG and DS9. I liked Voyager and to a lesser degree Enterprise, but this feels like home to me. Bring on more of the Orville!
  • Orville: We have a weapon that will wipe you out! You've seen it before! We have it and are ready to use it Kaylon: No you don't... attack Orville: Suit yourself Kaylon: Oh I am become error.

Whoever the composer is my gosh...give him movies...give him awards...let him compose the world...i want him composing me walking to my car in the morning
  • Gorgeous. Actual storytelling, too. GOT to start watching this show even though I deplore paying for half a dozen streaming services just to get a third of what I want to see.
  • Kaylon: We gon kill y'all biologicals. Orville: Ctrl+Alt+Del Kaylon: Never mind, you have a nice day, sir.

Disney is pulling the orville from Hulu and putting on Disney+ in the USA and Canada. It has been on disney+ in Europe. The rating must be awesome, it means a bigger budget from the house of mouse as well.

Now I understand... the use of the disruptor in this instance is akin to using the atomic bomb on Hiroshima to end World War II. In this case, it was to prevent the war, though.

Reminds me of voyager when future Janeway gave voyager actual plot armour

I have heard it said many times but I will say it again, the Orville is the new Star Trek. Just like TNG it has evolved and matured in the season 3, I have gotten invested into its characters and connected with them, just like its supposed to be with good movies or shows. However, I have not gotten connected with STD, Picard or any other new Trek. Charly was a good character and a good actor, with proper character growth. She will be sorely missed...

I haven't really watched the Orville, but the CGI work is exceptional for a TV show!🤗🤗🤗 The Kaylon City is remarkably detailed!
  • The Kaylon vessels may be the size of Borg Spheres. But the Cube vessels of the Borg may well be a good deal bigger. And perhaps at least 6 times larger. That means that it'll take a lot more than the output of this device to destroy those. And that means more - not less - functionality.
