    You are basically converting your sideways momentmum into friction that slows your fall. So this technique only works for a little while (when you have sideways motion during your fall), but it is very interesting.

    Me and my mates did this, it is actually surprisingly easy at speed and at more extreme angles. I called them 'Persians'. Most parkour moves are cat based plus obviously, Prince of Persia. You're welcome.
