I love the emphasis on the word BEST in Lupita Nyong'o's performance. Her award was well deserved.
  • 11:25 This scene is just incredible. I fail to imagine every day how much everyone loved Heath. R.I.P

The fact that Toni Collette didn’t win anything for Hereditary and same for Florence Pugh in Midsommar is such robbery.

14 years later, that Joker interrogation scene still brings chills down my spine.

I’m surprised that Paul Dano played major characters in 3 of these films yet hasn’t won an Oscar. He’s such a great actor !!

22:13 is an extremely underrated winner. Brie Larson's performance and emotion in Room is insanely talented and tear-worthy. The fact that the novel is based on a real-life case (see Fritzl case) is awful, and I really think Brie was able to capture how emotionally deprived but spirited that woman is after being held hostage for so long. Jacob Tremblay did a great job too, he's one of the best kid actors around today, no contest.

R.I.P to my man Heath Ledger. His performance in The Dark Knight... GODDAMN, man. What a beast this guy was.
  • Heath still outshines so many roles, and honestly is one of my top 3 picks for the best acting of the last generation.
  • @piper9196
Lupita Nyong’o’s performance is unmatched oh my god

damn these all were incredible but my personal favourites are: charlize theron - she absolutely killed it in monster, she really embodied aileen and gave her such depth that depsite the murders i felt so sorry for her. very hard to do. christoph waltz - in both roles he won the oscar for, he's just an insanely talented actor. he legit was terrifying in inglorious basterds mo'nique - wow, she really did that. i just believed her performance, it didn't feel like i was watching someone act, also side note, gabourey sidibe deserved the oscar for leading actress in my opinion, that scene in the classroom when she tells everyone she's hiv+ and breaks down makes me cry every damn time. natalie portman - this was the performance of her career imo, i saw this in the theatre and was taken aback at how good she was. lupita nyong'o - that scene in this video...i legit think about that scene like once a month, thats how much it stayed with me, she really did that. makes me cry so much. rami malek - he was so captiviating as freddie, i had to go to see this in theatres 3 times, thats how much i loved his perfomance. olivia coleman - her prescence on screen always feels so genuine and warm, she steals every scene she's in, what a talent. joaquin phoenix - just an incredible actor, if he didn't win the oscar that year i would have riotted. brad pitt - loved his character in once upon a time in hollywood, that end scene...no words. also, leo deserved an oscar for his performance in this movie as well. that line ''well...the fucking hippies aren't'' chefs kiss. heath ledger - thats it, no words.
  • @goodbadbill
Ray Liotta being the last voice heard in this clip made me tear up. That guy was a great actor.
  • @basilisk02
the struggle actors have to go through now with green screens everywhere and how they manage to push themselves into their characters without good/immersive locations is so freaking admirable.
  • I think I got a the majority of the formula (there are exceptions ofc). Women (usually older) not afraid to look ugly or angry and men not afraid to act/be vulnerable/compassionate. Which says a lot about our culture, I think.
  • @Staceyishere
13:55 Christoph Waltz is my favorite actor. He was so amazing in Inglorious Basterds and he’s also in my favorite movie, Django Unchained.

The first time I saw Marion Cotillard's performance in La Vie En Rose will forever be imprinted in my mind and memory. Such a wonderful perormance
