SMALL SPACE TOUR - Woman's Gorgeous 400 ft² Studio Apartment

Published 2022-10-16
Farida's 400-square-foot studio apartment in Toronto, Canada is perfectly set up for a creative young professional. She's been living here for almost 4 years and has done a great job of creating defined spaces within the open-concept condo space. She has a twin bed at one end which saves loads of floor space, and a wall unit that provides storage for books and crafts, but also acts as a room divider for a bit of privacy. She has a full-size closet for clothes, a desk for doing hair and makeup, and also for sewing projects. In the living room, she has a loveseat which is perfect for lounging, and a comfy spot to do her cross-stitch projects. In the kitchen, there's a small table for eating or for computer work and a linear kitchen with a surprising amount of pantry storage space. Finally, in the hallway, there's a coat closet, a laundry closet, a bathroom with a stand-up shower, and a bit of an entryway. There's also a West-facing balcony and floor-to-ceiling windows all along one wall of the condo.

We love checking out small and alternative spaces like tiny houses, yurts, float homes, etc. but it's also worth remembering that there are loads of small apartments and condos in cities that allow for simple, minimalist living if that's where you want/need to be. Small space living isn't restricted to rural areas or to alternative structures. That being said, living in the city can be quite expensive (although rural living might appear cheaper, but you often need a vehicle!). Lots of things to consider when choosing where and how you want to live :)

Thanks for watching!

The gallery wall of embroidery work is stunning. You have created a beautiful home from top to bottom ❤

I love your home. Minimal without being sparse. Functional. Airy & bright. People forget that when you have to (or might) move around a lot that you focus on the basics + enough to turn a space into a home. Very well done. Congrats on sharing your hobby and talent with others online.

In such a small and cosy space, you need to keep order and everything organized, and she does it greatly. P.S. Toronto looks amazing!

Your apartment is gorgeous, I like how you separated all the different areas and there also seems to be a lot of storage space. I could see myself living there.

Gorgeous place. Love how clean and bright it is and her decorating style is so cute. 😍

I really like her studio apt. The decor is so calming. I like that she has a single bed. If you don't have the space a single bed is perfect. Also I love the separation between the living room and the bedroom. The glass shower is a nice way to allow the small space to feel open. Great apt styling. Thanks for sharing.
  • What a light and airy space - very beautiful! Loved the gallery of cross stitching 🙌🏻

Wow, just wow. What a lovely place and so truly hers with the things in it, that she made herself. That dress is gorgeous! My compliments!
  • Yay! It is so good to see a "tiny" space of a person who sews and does textile crafts!
  • The windows and the outside access makes what is already a nicely planned place truly good to work in. You have done a fine job with organizing and the handwork is what I do and appreciate your gallery wall with quilts. Thank you for our visit. Toronto so special with your introduction . Stay well.
