There are many people interested in the place where I reside presently. So in this vlog I am giving a small glimpse into the village where I was born.
It turns out that the district where my village is situated is considered to be the poorest disctrict in Belarus. Nevertheless, it is one of the most important places in my heart.

If you have questions to ask, you may find some answers in my Q&A -    • Q&A: about my Occupation, Education, ...

Also some of you asked to make a tour inside a Belarusian village house -    • A Tour inside a Belarusian Village Ho...

I’ve been in Korma as a bus driver picking up children who suffers from Chernobyl and bringing them to Belgium. I have done this 3 times. Once I stayed a week with the locals. Belarusians are very warm and nice people. Where I was after a few days , the father of the house send their family away, because he had not food enough to feed me and my colleague. I try to give them money, but he won’t accept it. So I hide the money in the room where we slept. Afterwards they found it and send me a nice thank you letter. This video and helping the people there brings back good memories.

I don't know if there's some people who are focusing on poverty but for me I am focusing on the beautiful nature and the calm atmosphere which is something that you can't buy with money these days because peace of mind is the real treasure not money. I am adding this place to my list to visit it someday , great work you did on showing us this beautiful video
  • Wonderful place! I was born, and I live in the big, industrial city, but I was spent every summer holidays on te coutryside. Unfortunately normal, natural, quaiet places like that are less, and less in my country... I love Belarus! Beautiful country, and very nice people. Much love from Poland, Slavic Sister!
  • I'm from Brazil and love Belarus❤🇧🇷🇧🇾 Beautiful country: The villages are organized goods, the peaceful life in the countryside and the presence of animals! ❤💚🏡🍅🐓🍶🍄 I WILL SUBSCRIBE to the Channel!

Katsiaryna, You may consider your birth-place "poor" in terms of money but, look around you! You're so rich in natural beauty, clean air and sunshine, away from pollution, city traffic jams, artificial noise (instead of the sound of birds, chooks and cows grazing), and above all, the unbearable stress that people living in small 'shoe-boxes' in cities suffer daily. You are blessed dear girl! Best wishes from a distant "grand-father" from Australia. 😃😃
  • It may be poor, but its also a privilege to grow up in a place so rural and so beautiful

I had my ex girlfriend who was from Minsk but often we visited the countryside as she LOVED to go there.... went all around Balarus by rented car... good memories of a troubled relationship, but many great memories... Grodno, Polotsk, Belaveshaia Pusha (how is it spelled?).... Belarus is a STUNNINGLY Beautiful Country. Gentle and warm people. I wish you all the best Tanya, wherever you are now

  • Since I get a lot of comments on poverty and comparisons, I would like to clarify some of the notions: 1. The aim of the video was to show the contrast with the regions within Belarus (for example, the city of Minsk is richer in these terms than our entire Gomel region and Korma district!). I did not compare the subsistence minimum of Belarus and other countries like Kenya and other countries of Africa, etc. The subsistence minimum is calculated in regards to the well-being of a Belarusian economy. 2. Being poor and live in poverty are two connected but different notions. I am aware of worldwide hunger and poverty in certain regions. It pains me to say but we are lucky to have the possibility to cultivate land and get produce to survive. That is why we do what we do: agriculture - one of the main sectors of Belarusian economy. 3. The wages (salary) given in the video are before taxes. It is a monthly salary! This amount is enough to pay for utilities and food. No more than that.
  • To be poor is not a shame, but rather brings out the beauty of oneself. You live in a very beautiful place and thank you for sharing with us. Respect and love from a South African Boer.

  • Despite the fact that it's the poorest one, it's such a beautiful, green corner of the world😍 Btw, I like the photos of your grandparents!

YouTube needs more content like this. You'd be surprised just how much you have in common with rural America.
  • Peaceful life is all a human being wants at the end of the day. And your town is rich in that. Worth a visit I guess. You have successfully gained one more subscriber mam. Lots of love from india 🇮🇳
  • Beautiful. This reminds me very much my childhood. I grew up in Poland, in quite similar environment. We used to have 1,5 hectare of our own cropland, with 2 cows, some 6 pigs and plenty of hens, ducks, rabbits and other live stock. We grew all vegitables alone. We cultivated the land alone, but we did not have any horse and my father was always borrowing the horses from his more wealthy neighbors. I have smelled similar flavor of such life again, while travelling in Belarus some 25 years ago. I am missing that so much, however I know how difficult the life on such a farm is. There is plenty of work every day, even on Sunday the animals need to fed and the cows need to be milked. Everything is far away, school, church, shop, friends. But we constituted a real family – working together, spending time together, sharing good and bad things together. Working on this small farm was a good school of life. Later our farm burned down and was never rebuilt. My parents went to work and our lives have changed.

Thank you Katsiaryna for sharing thee beautiful town of your childhood. It is so beautiful and peaceful. I love in the city and eat everything that has no taste. I grew up in the countryside like yours and I miss that kind of life.
