A small detail of Odin’s deception is how he just carelessly tosses Ingrid onto the bed. His words sound peaceful but he is angry on the inside. Little things like that give away how he manipulates everyone

“It’s you! … wait, it’s you!” Man, the degradation of Sindri and Atreus’ relationship hurt.
  • "This is a fuck-up of not insignificant proportions" has gotta be my favorite line from the game. Despite the seriousness of the scene I started laughing as soon as mimir said it

I love how Sindri is so happy to see Atreus he forgets to be mad for a sec
  • I love how Freya looks so done when she has to take Mimir's head. "Like seriously, you want me to carry this guy around?"
  • "Off your back. " And immediately summons a spear with spartan cloth. A Spartan never lets his back hit the ground.© Deimos, we remember you, brother!

Long ago I read a twitter status which went along the lines "I never want my children to think "I messed up my dad's gonna kill me" I want them to hink "I messed up, I have to call my dad" and Atreus was thinking exactly the same. As soon as he knew he fucked up of not insignificant proportions the first person he turned to was his dad. Kratos might have been a little distant, short tempered sometimes, and he might have pushed his training, but nobody can deny it that he is a good father. Because his son knows, no matter what, no matter who he chooses to be. His Father will be always there. They came a long way since Atreus saying that his father should've died instead of his mother. Go Dad of Boi

7:45 When a person with problems hugs you, let she/he be the one to let go first. You never know how much that hug is needed. This is a lesson often taught to kindergarten teachers when treating with kids.
  • I love how Atreus drops his bow and just runs to Kratos like a child needing comfort from their parent when they feel completely alone and as if they committed the biggest mistake of their life.
  • i love how he atreus hugs kratos, no words he just wanted to feel safe again

The way he says “what do I call you” is just really impactful to me. It’s a father who sees a young man growing into his own, one who’s struggling with his identity, and the first question he asks, almost in a submissive and apologetic tone, is that. His primary concern is making sure his son knows that, whoever he chooses to be, he will be his father. As someone with a very rocky relationship with my father, this touched my heart

A perfect moment of Odin's manipulation is how in Asgard he's seen as calm, understanding, and reasonable person when confronted with the garm situation as well as the missing mask piece. Contrast to "Tyr" immediately casting blame on Atreus for the realm tears and making it all seem as his fault, most likely in an effort to dissuade Atreus from his father and friends.
  • Just noticed that Odin kinda gave away that he knew more about where Atreus was living. The lines about the company Atreus keeps and how one of his ravens would be waiting for him in his OLD home show that Odin knew Atreus was hanging around multiple people, not just Kratos, who are his enemies, and that it wasn't at the house him and Thor visited. Good stuff, Santa Monica Studios.
  • Normally, Atreus would make excuses. Normally, Kratos would scold him. Normally, the others would come to the former's defense. Interesting to see roles reversed. Shows how much both have grown.
  • This is how you know Kratos has really become a father. Everyone else is angry and suspicious of Atreus but Kratos can see that his son is in pain. He knows that people who are confused and frightened don't need people to be angry. They need someone to be there for them.
  • 2:01 Did anyone notice what Odin said? “Hugin will be waiting for you in your OLD home”. Odin occasionally does slip here and there and very subtly reveals that he’s been watching their every move but nobody ever really notices. Kratos should’ve asked himself how Odin knew where he was in Svartalfheim and what he was doing and Atreus should’ve asked himself how does Odin know that he doesn’t live in the cabin anymore.

I think this scene is really touching on multiple levels. When Kratos visits the Nors you see his worst nightmare is losing his son to Odin, driving his own kid away. Also when he asks what do I call you, you can hear that fear coming through, that he still might have lost him. But when he runs in for the hug you can see the relief. He is so relieved that his son still wants him as his father. That he hasn’t chosen Odin over him.

"Garm! Great bleeding fuck lad you freed Garm?" Mimir said calmly i just i can't with his reaction he rarely looses his crap but when he does somehow it's lowkey hilarious
