Yusei Fudo meets his childhood friend: Kalin Kessler. But having died in prison believing that Yusei betrayed him to Sector Security, grew to hate him and greedily accepted the chance to take revenge on Yusei by becoming a Dark Signer. Yusei hurt by Kalin's taunts and accusations, tries his best to tell Kalin the truth, which he eventually succeeded in getting across as he wins the duel. He leaves in peace and wishes his old friend well.
Soon after the 2nd in command of the Dark Signers appears & divulges information about the true event of the Zero Reverse disaster that Yusei's father had been the Scapegoat for all this time. It was Roman Goodwin himself that caused it & Yusei's father tried to stop it. Yusei used that information & took the victory & revenge for his father.
