My hometown…. My grandparents built a house there in 1950 on a street where flooding wasn’t even something that would cross your mind. They lived in it over 70 years, and never even had water in their basement. It was dry, and no floods ever came remotely close to them until 2014, which was unfathomable at that time. Their old house had at least several feet of water around it yesterday, which is difficult for me to even comprehend. Same for my aunt and uncle, whose house had never been flooded, and they had to wade out to rescue in the middle of the night. My heart goes out to so many people. This isn’t an example of poor preparation or poor choice of where to build a town. This is such an unprecedented flood that it’s difficult to comprehend. I’m just so saddened to see this…

Like the covid funds, wonder how much assistance money the governor will keep this time.

Not a penny of federal money.

Those rubber inflatable dams would have prevented much of this for a couple of thousand dollars. Sad that this happened.

What with the core of army engineers shouldn't they have been working on a plan to alleviate the flooding problems throughout this country.
