  • @boarbot7829
Everyone’s local flea market has that classic 10,000 dollar plus stand. We all know this, come on guys.

Just the other day I went down to the thrift shop and spend $180,000.

I had a friend, antique collector, who bought a Dutch painting at a yard sale for $5. He sold it to another collector for $1700. THAT collector invested $15,000 and had it restored. HE sold it for $120,000! My friend was not upset as he explained to me that in his business knowledge was everything. He knew more than the yard sale guy, the other collector knew more than he did.
  • I bought a wooden storage box at a flea market once. Got it for 36 bucks and later found out they were going for 8 dollars at the local farm store. ..

I often go to flea markets with 20-30k looking for scrap metal to resell. Because that makes sense.

I love the Faberge eggs. They are amazing in their detail and special features, and they are beautiful.

So he’s looking for scrap metal at a flea market but has $14,000 to spend on a random gold egg? Okay.
  • My mom had a rather successful jewelry business at a swap meet in Tucson in the 80's. I was in my teens at the time and was big into coins. I had a little section with coins for sale. One day this gentleman from China started a conversation with me and had some Chinese cash coins he wanted to sell. He told me he was at another flee market and one stand had a box of Chinese cash coins marked .25 cents each. Him knowing Chinese (duh) dug threw the box and picked out ones that were more valuable. He purchased them looking to sell them for a few more dollars. I was curious about the certain coins he had with him for sale. Each coin he had written the dynasty and date and emporer. I decided to purchase the coins from him for 30.00 bucks. I took the coins to a professor i knew at the UofA and found out tge Chinese gentleman was 100% telling the truth about the coins history. After researching more two of the coins valued at $350.00 the remaining 18 coins averaged 50-80 bucks each. Im 54 now and still have those coins.

At this point, I believe that at least a half of those eggs are not missing, but being hidden for some reason. The rest are more likely lost buried or something.

Once I purchased an authentic DaVinci painting at the local 7-11 when I went to buy a roll of bathroom tissue. Luckily I had 10.5 million dollars cash USD in my wallet.
