They steer the worms by pulling back the scales which exposes the soft inner flesh to the corse sand. This causes the worm to turn and rotate so the exposed flesh is at the top, thus minimizing any irritation.

Haven't seen it yet, but I don't care about spoilers for a 60yr old book. I'm here for this couple

I love it when people try to explain the plot of Dune cause it all sounds so ridiculous even though its so amazing when you read/watch it😆 Its sandworm “bile” btw🤙🏻

So in the book they actually can steer the worms with the 2 tiny little hooks. When they pull the ring segments open the worm won’t go under the sand because they don’t want sand inside those segments. So if they wanted the worm to turn they move down the rings and the worm will turn. Usually they’ll ride the worms to exhaustion so it’s easy to dismount them because they become placid then. In the book they do explain it’s harder to get off if the worm isn’t ridden to exhaustion. 💜

Hans Zimmer’s score was breathtaking and I was so reminded of Arrival.

Raise your hand if you wanted to see “Chobani” slap “Tim o Tay” a second time… the betrayal!! Slap him again and make it count!
  • @eksora
Nick please make Joseph watch David Lynch’s Dune & review it !!
  • @CocoIVY2881
They can’t wear protective shields in the desert, because it attracts sandworms.

Joseph, this is Dune and must be taken seriously. Where is Nick (hands on my hips). Thanks once again for making us smile gentlemen.

I just got home from watching Dune, and I had the same question as Nick about how they get OFF of the freaking sandworms once they reach their destination.

"Sand worm piss" 😂😂😂😂 You two are a freaking gift! "Zendaya ...Runs off mad" 😂😂

Dune is not for everyone, so props for reading it. I admit I was never a fan (I read the first book and that was enough). It is very weird but admit this version kind of figured out how to do it where people are not hopelessly lost, which is what sunk the first one in the 1980's. The visuals are amazing and I actually could get what it was about just from watching the movie, which is a huge accomplishment.
  • I loved the little pug dog in the original David Lynch movie! So cute that they carry this tiny little dog around with them thru the desert. LOL
  • @LynneJordan11
“This fool is demented” 😂😂😂 You crack me up and we are of the same cloth.
  • @lainadelpay
I watched last night and really liked it. Thought Austin Butler was Bill Skarsgard for the whole movie

Thank you, Joseph. "Tim-O-Tay" is now the official pronunciation. Finally there is something amusing about that slender assembly of hair and bones.
