US Soccer needs to go ahead and make this happen - we need that fighting spirit back.

I freaking love these USMNT behind the scenes stories LOL.
  • @chippievan
I truly enjoyed the honesty and unfiltered conversation in this episode. I have so much respect for Jesse now. I especially admire the strength of Kate to just go there as the sole journalist amongst former players. This is what I want in soccer commentary. Epic
  • At first I wasn't excited about this episode, but then I just finished the Ali episode and now I gotta watch. Jesse is an American soccer pioneer, been through evey aspect of soccer, player coach, TV, excited to see this

Clint made the point I've been making for YEARS when it comes to USA v Mexico...when you're ALWAYS playing home games you aren't being tested like other teams. Even if there are 50k Mexican fans in the stands they are predominantly Americans...and the environment is still familiar, in the stadium, hotel Etc. They're not dealing with the same situations as they would if they were in other countries

Marsh is still learning. I think Leeds is a really difficult team to coach. You have to be a strong coach to handle the pressure of the club and the fan base. I think a team like Bournemouth, Sheffield, Fullham, Wigan are clubs he should look for who can implement his style but let him grow…

This is the longest public interview for the USMNT job I've seen.

This show is so great, grew up watching these guys on USMNT

Compare this to any interview that Berhalter has done. How is it possible that USMNT has the least charismatic and least inspiring coach that you could ever imagine? Jesse made clear his interest in the USMNT job, but they picked Berhalter instead. Really, it’s unbelievable.

18:00 Jesse just basically called Gregg's team soft and I love it because he's absolutely right. This current team has all the talent in the freaking world and arguably our best team ever if you rate on only talent, but there's no dogs on the team. We need some Dempsey's.

I hope Maurice Edu makes a leap to try and coach. I think he has a good sense of how to become a solid manager(of people)and coach(tactics, strategy). He is Someone who has played in America, In Europe, and the USMNT national team(especially with WC experience). And was always respected by his peers and coaches. His commentary has been solid too. I feel like he and Michael Bradley can be really good future soccer coaches and potential USMNT HC

If Charlie would have been available that 2010 would've made a proper run. Jozy an Charlie were lights out up top, Dempsey at his natural CAM spot.

Them referencing the pimp squad for life clip is hilarious 😂
  • @mcases2978
I see Kate is a fan of Mohammad Ali. Nice touch!
  • @RLBays
Welp, I did not expect to tear up watching this interview!
  • Very good guest. Seems very likeable and knowledgeable. I admire him for learning German.

Rudi völler is from Hanau. Great show.
