  • Mickey appearing out of nowhere just to be like “say fellas, did somebody mention the door to darkness” will always be hilarious to me

Yes. But… this is actually one of my favorite things about Kingdom Hearts. It can go from being super serious to super silly in a heartbeat. One minute you’re playing mini games with Winnie the Pooh. The next you’re fighting to the death against Sephiroth.

Ngl when I saw “Destiny is inevitable” I read that as “Disney is inevitable”

There are two kinds of kingdom hearts players; those whose immersion is broken by Mickey Mouse, and those who get hype AF when he shows up

As a child i found mickey's appearance to be badass amongst all the og characters And he still is

Bro really played a game about Final Fantasy characters interacting with Disney acting suprised to see the mouse himself

"Did somebody mention the door to darkness?" "Did somebody mention who asked?"
  • @DewMan31
Mickey be wanting to be a main character so bad, and yet he's only playable in like... 2 games.

"I just hung out with Hercules, Mulan, and Belle, but Mickey is a bridge too far for me"
  • @Dreigonix
If Mickey breaks your KH immersion, you’re not KHing right.
  • @KEEYBLADE
My biggest immersion breaker because of Disney Characters was when you finally save Aqua, Sora says "you're home" with a warm voice and right after that Donald and Goofy are screaming at me "YOU'RE HOME"
  • @AlonzoTompkins
The door to darkness part is still the peak immersion breaking moment.

I got attached enough to Mickey’s arc with Riku in Re:CoM (and spammed his combos enough) that I got the Donald/Goofy effect with him. I also played Ven and Aqua a lot. Honestly my biggest problem is the voice direction. Too deep and slow and tired in serious scenes. Mickey’s official actor is capable of emotional range even if he isn’t often called on for it, but only in the most optimistic of circumstances does he sound like himself.

Mickey's signature move: show up and do nothing
  • @UltravioletNomad
Im not gonna lie, seeing Mickey stand alone against 13 seekers of darkness at the end of Remind got me feelin shit, like pretty up there in terms of emotional investment.

Idk why i love how the kh1 secret ending the way mickey comes in scene
  • @NowNowBoys
when i was younger, i loved the disney stuff, and then i started wishing that i could have kh minus all the disney stuff. now, i think the disney stuff is essential and i would never want it gone

Mickey, being the jumpscare in every scene! lol why did I have to fall in love with such a silly ass franchise! But, Damnit, I do still love the entire story and franchise to bits. Nomura and FF crew created some characters I love and I’ll never get out of my head for years to come! ❤ Excited for Feb 16th
