Jo, your vibe is unreal. You are so otherworldly and intelligent. I loved the episode. Love hearing you interact with your guests. 🤍 from Nebraska, USA

The dog became the chap on the motorbike. Shapeshifter❤
  • Frank shouldn’t feel bad about not recalling the details. He was under an enchantment spell drawn in by her green eyes. The black dog like thing in the water was probably the motor bike guy who was a shapeshifter. I feel Frank broke the spell when he raised the subject of the summer solstice and that’s why she got angry. Frank probably got out of a tricky dangerous situation. It would be good for Frank to find a professional regression therapist to see if he can uncover more details. Thank you for sharing this unique and rare experience. I enjoy this channel!

So many people here in Cornwall and also Devon (especially Dartmoor) have had nature spirit encounters in one form or another, but most don't want to talk about them in public. I have heard many over the years directly from the experiencer.

Thank you for sharing your intriguing experience. Thought provoking. You might have had a lucky escape. Nicola, water fairy? Just remembered the poor lady who went missing by a river last year.

What an eerie anecdote this is, and one of my faves so far on this channel. Btw, there's been a spate of mature women in the UK ending up deceased in rivers. Nicola Bulley was one example. I wonder what really happens to these unfortunate souls :(
  • Excellent as always, Jo. You seem to know the exact questions to ask to bring forth more insight. My husband fishes a local river with a local legend attached. The ancients worshipped a deity that lived in the river and gave a human sacrifice every few years. Now no one worships that goddess but she still takes her blood sacrifices and every seven years a human life will be lost. Recently a young man went missing while fishing and was found drowned in there. I wondered about it when i saw the news Btw i heard it happened close to a bridge and the river spirit has also something to do with a nearby well.

It is such a fascinating area of research and thankyou Jo for your manner of presentating the podcasts. I feel like I’m not alone 😀❤️

I know one needs to be careful around rivers. Many stories about river beings that will drag people down if they get too close to the water's edge, like kelpies who can shape shift.

I remember reading his account on the Fortean Times message board years ago. Very cool to see him talk about it in person.

Two near-misses by the water. 🤔 I’d avoid going near that spot again! Great show!

An entire 60 years of not believing such things! Then quite suddenly for reasons I don't know I did a 180. I know think not only could it be true but I suddenly believe. I'm now unfortunately confused as can be ..

I'm looking at the place on Google Maps and it looks frankly sinister in the photos! I don't suppose it would in nice summer sunshine though. A good story indeed. It's so bizarre to imagine that in the middle of the thickly populated, built-up South East, on the very fringes of London, there could be encounters with the paranormal in broad daylight.

After listening to this, I did aome searches & found there are a few fairy stories where black dogs feature, either has a benevolent protector or as aomething to be feared!
  • Hi Jo, an absolutely outstanding episode, for Imbolc! I've sent you an illustration based on this one.👏

Maybe the action of falling out the tree,he fell through a portal and could suddenly see them, ,I thought at first she was swimming but she wasn’t ? The dog was. she sounds like a mermaid /some sort of E.T ? the Thames is tidal - and he sounds like a shapeshifter of some sort ,deffo her protecter ,unless she was a ghost x but wow ,Thankyou x

Greetings from Scotland.. On this night of all nights, the 25th night of the first month, Burns Night, I can't help but feel this story reminds me of Tam O'Shanter. Tam narrowly escapes that witch, a beauty, but a dark witch with ill intent. Cross the bridge and know your boundary

I used to have my little boat moored close by and enjoyed exploring the area where Caesar crossed at Corway Stakes. It's a really interesting area. Fascinating story, thanks to both of you.

Hi Jo very interesting piece as usual 👍 Encounters with the Faye can be very tricky indeed. Having listened to Frank's fascinating account, it seems to me that rather than Frank stepping into an enchanted realm, the enchanted realm stepped into him. With alot of these type of encounters the participants state of mind, Outlook on life, memories, desires etc all get mixed up with a powerful sentient intelligence ie the Faye ? So in Frank's sort of waking dream it was not surprising that he met a girl because that is why he and his friend wanted to meet up there for in the first place ? Although she was something other. So alot of Frank's thoughts and anticipation for that day were sort of hi jacked into a waking dream/enchantment and made into a staged show for some reason only the Faye would know ?

funny you mention a shape shifter. this is exactly where my insticts lie. though this is the first time I've heard anything like this.
