He is visiting his brother Yi Long Ma

Am I correct to understand? That an American corporate tycoon is received better than any American politician?

Fascinating how elon is loved more outside the US than in the US.
  • @jackofnone500
I hope China said to elon “see, we don’t bully foreign business in the name of national security”

China celebrating Tesla , America trashing Tesla... How sad for America.. Losing a crown jewel because of politics.
  • @walhdamaskus2408
He looks like more an important person than any american politicians. 😂

An interesting fact is that Tesla is one of the companies that have got the most subsidies from Chinese government😂

As a Chinese, I can confirm that Elon is indeed very popular here, mostly because people acknowledge Tesla as a brand, I mean I see sooo many TESLA here in Xiamen, it is crazy. And about his personal life and personality issues, I think most of us just regard them as "funny" anecdotes, no one takes them seriously due to the lack of access of Twitter(or X). So mostly what we hear about him are all positive sides, and funny ones. So we generally have good impression on him. P.S. I did watch the podcast he did with Lex Fridman, I do find him knowledgable and smart...and I have got to say I like him as well. Or maybe it is just because he is generally friendly towards Chinese, even it is just for the market, I don't know, it is a subjective perspective that I cannot escape. And he definitely nail that part toward the Chinese I will say. I just hope that he does not change like Zuckerberg, who was also very friendly before...for the market...LOL.

China is quite polite to Musk. It is not easy for a businessman to be received by the Prime Minister.
  • @tonyh7158
He only spend one day to get what he want in china. That is efficiency. No hearing, no hassle.

Which country is more open will show it all. Telsa is allowed to sale their vehicles in China, and U.S. is not allowed BYD to sale its vehicles in here.

Musk was scheduled to visit India and meet Modi. He cancelled the trip, and went to China instead.
  • @MegaPapa8888
Musk is a smart person with good business sense. Politics makes no bearing on him.

Most asian people admire hard working successful people. Just part of their culture. Good for Elon!

Roughly £120k in my portfolio are in tech/TSLA stocks, can I get an advice on any other stocks that I can acquire to diversify my reserve across multiple markets while creating a comprehensive portfolio allocation that balances my concerns of risk aversion and returns that meet yearly inflation.

As a Chinese, I can tell Elon is quite welcome and popular in China. It may bcoz he is engineer and Chinese like engineer. It could because he is not bias and just telling what he see. Elon is a super idea driven leader who great at direction decision but bad at make it happen, and China is perfectly partner with him.

Chinese people are not afraid of foreign technologies, how about the US allowing some Chinese brands into its market?
  • @guojing78
3:12 Interesting that Andrew initially thought that Elon was maybe asked to visit China in order to get an earful from CCP. Any Chinese or even most east Asians would not have thought of that as a possibility, because China/Asian by and large won't invite a guest to their country in order to humiliate the guest. That would be too rude and dishonorable, really. Goes to show how wide is the gap of cultural misunderstanding/ignorance across the Pacific ocean. The way TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi was being summoned to America and being bombarded with rude questions, to an Asian that's really unbecoming.

Move SpaceX to China then we reach Mars in record time :)
