I took a basic Photoshop class back in college, but the real learning comes by playing around. I'm sure you can find some great tutorials online.

you were right. i did play with it, and got the basics. but i learned many of these basics from watching others work in real life :). Example: layers that are on top of each other, appear in front of the drawing it self. Basic thing i know, but it is hard to realise that by yourself! i asked everything i possibly could, to everyone that was used to ps, all the obvious things!

Dayanth, I used to try to mask areas all the time (when I first started) and then found that it was counter-productive to my intentions an illustration style. Masking can be useful, and if I were to finish this piece, I would consider it as an option. I found that for the purposes of this video, I should save time.

hi joe, did you learn photoshop by yourself, or watching tutorials ? I'm a pretty good drawer, but i can't trade brushes and pencils for photoshop drawings! And i've got a wacom tablet and everything....just can't get photoshop.... So, can u name an easy/basic photoshop toturial ?
