Here is our first tutorial in Blender! We made this one a doozy because there's so much to go over in Blender, and we wanted to give you something that goes over the main basics so you can get to creating! This crash course is over an hour and a half long, so get some coffee, a 3-button mouse, and prepare to make some 3D!

Hang in a minute, his isn't Resolve... Ha always awesome dude. Really cool seeing you branch out into blender too. I've fancied dabbling myself so I'll follow this and see how it goes 🙂

OMG! Excited! About 20 years ago I taught myself 3D using Truespace 3D and Lightwave 3D and became very proficient. After about 5 years I gave up and got into photography and recently have wanted to get back to 3D again (especially now with the new M1 Max computers on the way). I tried Blender in the past but just couldn't learn it as well as I thought I would; maybe my brain is getting old. But now there is hope! Casey was responsible for me getting proficient at Resolve after everybody else failed. If it wasn't for you I would probably have stuck with basic editing in Final Cut. You are a master teacher, the best Resolve teacher online IMHO.

I'm only 7:20 into this vid. And I can tell already you know what you doing, and imma keep watching this. Lol, learned so much already before 10 min. You Go! Brutha! Good job!

I tried learning the donut. It just didn't work for me and I was discouraged. This actually helped a lot. Thanks so much for this tutorial.

Casey you're fantastic at tutorials, so this is pretty epic to see. I'd love to see you focus efforts on the VFX side of using blender to add stuff to filmed media. Tons of other great channels that focus on modeling, sculpting, and rendering. Have had trouble finding really good Video special effects tutorials/training though. Keep up the great work and excited for Blender content from you!

The way you have so much fun doing it and delivering all the positivity is just AWESOME!
  • @turtleofthemoon
This was fantastic. I followed some other tutorials that were supposedly for beginners and they jumped straight into keyboard shortcuts and didn't stop to explain the why behind a lot of the things they were doing (like what proportional editing is actually doing when you move things around) or common ways it could go wrong. I basically had to pause and rewind every few seconds. With this one I only paused a few times, and some of them were just because I was being picky about the shape of my tree or something. This really helped me get a handle on things and now I feel way more comfy in the program. Thank you so much for this! (Especially the tip to use alt with the middle mouse button. That is a lifesaver.)

Casey this is great! Your Resolve videos got me through the steep learning curve of switching from a consumer/prosumer MUCH lower end editor. I bought your Editing for YouTube course and it's been great! I was literally just talking about learning and playing with Blender the other day and up pops this video! Excellent job and looking forward to more!
  • @drjkjones

  • Casey, this was an awesome tutorial! Well organized and wonderfully delivered. Thanks so much. I will for sure be following your tutorials hoping to see how to integrate blender assets into Resolve/Fusion.

  • Oh my gosh, I'm so excited you started doing Blender tutorials! I've been learning Blender for a few years, but also am a Resolve user.
