Today was the day that we have been waiting for! Koa has been down in the basement and up on the rock ledge quite a few times over the past week and today was that special day of fledging!

Koa was down in the basement and then hopped to some lower rocks before flying to the next rock outcropping in its first flight 01:32! On this new location, Koa checks out the cactus that is growing in between the rocks as he keeps an eye on the siblings Treasure and Sterling in the nest.

Thirty minutes later, Koa is flapping its wings and then takes off in a beautiful and perfect full flight out of view 06:13! We don't know where Koa flew too (was not seen from either cam) but Koa will make it back to the historic nest for hours of exploring and even napping (that will be in my next video ๐Ÿ’•)

Congratulations Koa on fledging today bright and early at 06:22am at 86 days old! Treasure and Sterling have been doing a lot of flapping on the nest and now there is more room to wingercise with only two eaglets in it! Thank you for watching!

To see the highlights below, please click on the timestamps to advance to that portion of the video.

I recommend watching this video to learn about why the eagles have patagial tags also known as wing bling & the conservation work conducted in saving the bald eagles:
