A little video about how to stop comparing yourself to others and start living life on your terms - a new definition for how to be "successful" in life | slow living, simple living & minimalism.

It's true that it's more difficult than ever before to compare ourselves and lives to others. We have exposure to the lives of others on a daily basis, and although this new connection and insight can appear intriguing on the surface, the impacts of this can be more detrimental to us than helpful.

As someone who was always deemed "different" by conventional standards, I found this particularly difficult to step outside of the ordinary and see the positives to being unique. But now I can honestly say that since I have lived a life on my terms that's true to myself, I have never felt more happy and that's how I measure success.

I have adopted a slow living and minimalist lifestyle because it's what makes me happy each and every day. That's what it means to be successful in my eyes - living a life that is true and individual to you.
I really hope you find this video helpful and beneficial if you are struggling and need some advice as to how to stop comparing yourself to others.

  • My idea of success is being a stay at home mom in my 20’s! I’m not a girl boss, I don’t make a lot of money. But I’m raising children and it’s the greatest joy of my life and fills me with meaning. You wouldn’t believe the amount of people who think I’m wasting my potential. Children are looked upon as burdens when they are really. ..The greatest blessing. Cheers! Great video 💗🌎
  • This is mindblowing. Our success shouldn’t be measured by a number in our bank account or being married by a certain calendar age, it should be measured by our level of vitality and happiness.

I’m 66 now, wish your video had been available when I was 18. Very profound. Well done!

I appreciate this very much. I’ve never quite fit in in life. Always liked my solitude. People can never understand this. Don’t watch tv. Don’t do social media. Have finally found my confidence to just allow myself to be me and be happy the way I am. My son has gone off to university and he’s so similar to me. He seems to already have the confidence to be happy the way he is. For this I am grateful. It took me almost 50 years to achieve what he has now. He’s found friends who are like him and he’s content. I’m blessed in life. Wish I’d seen this video years ago. Thank you.😊

'Dont be afraid to be different ' - I needed this affirmation. Many thanks.

Be grateful for all you have; the exercise that works for me when I notice I start to get lost in the noise of my head, with things like comparing myself to others, is simply to look up and see the blue sky—it's a blessing. Don't wait until you can't do it.

The hardest person to be in in life is your authentic self..for someone so young, you have life sussed..some people take decades to have the realisation you have.. we are molecules and water passing through, enjoy each day,and have the self awareness to appreciate the beauty that surrounds you..

Beautiful video ! I never thought of success as how much money you have or material things. My mom used to say as long as you have a roof over your head, food on the table and love in your heart that is all you really need😊

Nobody else is going to save you. You have to be there for yourself. Get to know you along with any areas that need work. You are your own foundation. Loved your thoughts and video 🙏🏻

from now on.. my success will be measured by my fulfillment and joy!

Really nice. I lived 13 years up a mountain. Also stints of 50 days silence / no human contact. Success in today's world is an un-sane construct.

“No one would be better at being you than you are” 😊 I loved the video, thank you!!

Being authentic has an essence that you resonate with. Doesn't make you different, it means you dont choose to follow all the others who are on the exact same path. It makes you unique. I like that. Lovely scenery on your walk.

My life has been so much different than anyone else that I know, and sometimes I struggle with the thought that being different is a negative. Just because there’s no one that I know of that’s in my position. Don’t get me wrong, I truly feel like I’m blessed, but comparing myself to the society I live in, some might think that there’s something wrong with me. I’m thankful that I’ve come across this video. I’m not alone in my situation. Thank you, Holly 🙏🏻
  • 2024 is a new year for me to start cutting back. And just accepting the things I have. Its excellent to feel free when you give up things you don't need. Plus slow pace living is what I live by too. I don't rush anymore. I take my time :)

This was amazing and honest. Sustainable living/slow living looks different for everyone and so does success. For me, it's about doing what makes me happy. When I turned 40, I started embracing myself as a person and when I stopped trying to fit into the 'norm', I felt a lot more happier. I like being different :)

Just found your channel. Your own thoughts reflect perfectly those that I talk about on my own channel. Slow, simple living, minimalism and all wrapped in a countryside setting. I’m at the other end of the spectrum at 70. The more I listen, the more you remind me of me when I was living this life half a century ago. New subscriber.
