“The Game demands perfection. I’m talking by-the-book, clean racing.” Rear ends a Viper

Gran Tourismo saved my life - Some years ago I was driving from one town to another, an occasional trip for me so I was semi familiar with the roads, it was the early hours of the morning and still dark, I was doing 60mph down a 2 lane dual carriageway and there was a long blind left bend, suddenly there was a huge raised roundabout which was not there previously, seems the windy weather had blown over the temporary warning signs, I braked heavily and went into a spin, my rear-end was dragging me round towards the outer kerb of the roundabout, I had already spun 180º, Due to playing a ton of GT I instinctively I let go of the brake, flicked the steering wheel and re-applied the brake in an instant, and the weight in the car shifted from rear to front, completing a 360º spin and pulling me away from the kerb which would have smashed my wheels and axle an likely flipped the car. for a moment I let myself relax as the smog of rubber lifted and I was facing the right way and continued on my Journy.

To anyone new to the series, gran turismo is a racing simulator. You progress basically in steps. You improve your skill for the tracks gradually as you play more and when you can not get the first place in a race you upgrade your car specs. Then you grind a race or tournament for a while until you can get into the next car upgrade, which you could usually win a few races with, then you get stuck and upgrade again if you can't win, and so on.

Always online connection to play single player isn't an odd choice, it's a dumbass choice.

My Dad and I spent hundreds of hours playing GT2 when I was a kid. That game kickstarted a life-long love of cars for me. Stoked to see it return to form.

1:11 “by the book clean racing” proceeds to hit another car. Thank you for the laugh Jake
  • @Zeru.
Time to update the review guys.
  • @ogrepubes2396
you guys should make a video about how they added the micro-transactions after release
  • My first Gran Turismo game was Gran Turismo 3 on the PS2. It was such an experience.

This is my first GT game and I am loving it. I skew towards Arcade Racers, but have played a few Sims. I found myself turning off most of the assists almost right away. You are totally right that it feels more like a shackle than a help. I got sucked into the License tests as soon as they opened up. I had to gold every one of the B tests before I could move on. After a half hour of retrying over and over to get gold on all of them, my wife decided this was the most boring game ever and went to bed. I got them golds and the two reward cars though so... worth it.
  • I've been playing this since launch and gt since the first one on ps1. I've waited so long for this game and couldn't be happier. My only thing is I wish it had more grinding and a more traditional career mode. That being said I really like the menu system and the emphasis on car collecting. Also there is damage modeling. It's subtle but your car will get scuffed up and when you hit something little pieces go flying.

I remember the old GT on PS2, man have they come a long way since then
  • @AudioAdvisory38
GT3 taught my friends and me important things. Like a PS2 can spin a disc for over two weeks straight; when you want to take pause breaks from completing the 100 lap enduro races and running the game without a memory card.

The nostalgia from the music to the re mapped classic tracks have me playing this more than I like. Horizon and Elden Ring has taken a back seat literally in my PlayStation library!
  • @rapssss
The amount of different cars, dynamic weather that can change the entire race in an instance - it's all amazing! I'm at Cafe 34 and I really dig this game.

I have about 7 hours on this at the moment and I’m absolutely loving it, the first GT I played was GT 4 and ever sense then I have been in love
  • @danquaza9275
I know it’s not for everyone but I spend the majority of my time with the game in the menus and looking at all the car data and history. Going through and spending hours on liveries and fine tuning. And then it makes it even better that knowing that the actual racing is fun and beautiful. That’s why I love these games!

As a huge fan of the game series, i can't Fing believe you guys did it again. Online only?! Do the people without internet not matter? Why does a single player game NEED internet connection to be able to play? That is serious bs.
